Happy Birthday, Grandpa!!!

We went to visit Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Bey Bey to celebrate Grandpa's 52nd birthday. Wow. My pawrents don't understand it but I love this dome heater that Grandma has. I find it very fascinating. They know it's not because of the heat since I never get cold.

Grandpa had spent the day golfing with his buddies and then went out to his birthday dinner. We were waiting and waiting for him to come home so we could have some...

...sweet pecan potato praline pie and presents.

Grandpa got suckered into going out for karaoke so we weren't able to see him for his birthday or see him open his present. We did bring home a few pieces of the pie that Mommy made. We can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving Take Two

Since Mommy and Daddy spent Thanksgiving Day with Daddy's family. Today was our turn with Mommy's family. Look at that turkey. Mommy has roasted many chickens but this was her first turkey. It turned out delicious.

The table is set.

We are SO ready for dinner to begin.

Daddy thought it would be fun to watch a movie. I wonder what Grandma and Great Auntie are talking about?

He picked "Little Monsters." Grandpa and Mommy's Cousins thought it was a great movie. (We missed our Great Uncle today since he was at work).

Even though there aren't any pictures to prove it, he food was delicious. Turkey, herbed mashed potatoes, green beans with onions and mushrooms, grilled asparagus, soaked buttermilk biscuits, and of course, Korean BBQ...oh my! Dessert was pumpkin pie and buttermilk apple pie. Mommy was quite busy all day. This was Mommy and Daddy's very first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner. It's hard to snap away with the camera when you're hosting. Maybe we'll get better at it next year.

The Grandma and Bey Bey reunion

Today I thought we were all going to see Grandma at Fairmont Rehabilitation Hospital, but instead we went to uncle Bey Bey's house. Sierra and I stayed with Auntie Sheila while Mommy and Daddy took uncle Bey Bey to go visit Grandma. She said she was feeling a little better today and was very glad to see every one. She didn't see Uncle Bey Bey for nine whole days so Grandma was especially happy to see him. She even started to cry when Mommy told her that uncle Bey Bey was waiting outside for her. That was the best part of the day for Mommy and Daddy. The worst part was when Mommy left her house keys on grandpa's counter so after driving all the way home ( only 45 minutes) we turned around and did it all over again. So when we finally arrived home a little after 12:20 am, we were totally exhausted. Mommy hit the couch, Daddy laid on the floor under the ceiling fan, and while Sierra was jumping onto the other couch I was laying down next to Daddy. After we took a short little midnight nap, Mommy got up to give me my vitamins and Daddy had to go change a bulb in the motion light in the front of our house. Today was a long day so I am looking forward to good night sleep. See you all tomorrow.

Monday Madness

Our refrigerator is about to burst. Daddy saw how stuffed it was and said he was too scared to even try to pull anything out. This is what happens when the Cactus Cafe takes over your kitchen. Both Grandpa and Mommy were out running around after work, trying to find all the fresh produce they need for the cafe. Since Mommy had to pick food up all over the place she had to store it here for tonight. Normally Grandma does all the shopping but for now she cannot so Mommy and Grandpa are filling in. It hasn't been easy though, Mommy woke up at five o'clock this morning and was off and running. She didn't come home for almost twelve hours. It amazed me how she still was able to prepare our home cooked dinner and then make Daddy yummy chicken tacos. After our walk Mommy was looking a little sleepy so Daddy did the dishes while she relaxed on the couch. My Grandma is one hard worker. It takes three people to do what she does every day.

***Grandma update: Grandma might be moving to a rehabilitation hospital some time this week. She walked around with her physical therapist today but the feeling in her leg has not improved. After her walk she was feeling a little dizzy so she definitely needs constant supervision. Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes. And we promise to visit all your bloggies just as soon as things slow down a bit for all of us. We sure do miss everyone!

Grandma Update

My Grandma is not better yet. Today she was having a hard time walking around after falling twice this morning. She must not have seen the sign on the wall that says, "Call, don't fall." Tonight she had another CT scan and the swelling in her brain is causing her imbalance. Daddy said Grandma's hospital room has a nice view. He said he could see the entire Golden Gate Bridge across the San Francisco bay. We are very thankful for the wonderful scenery to help soothe Grandma's recovery. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. By now they are coming in from all over the world. Please continue to keep your paws crossed for a full recovery.

An Update

Thank you all for your encouraging and loving words for our Grandma. Tonight she was finally moved from Critical Care to a regular hospital room. Her right leg is still numb and she is still unable to hold anything with her right hand. She has made some progress since yesterday so that is great news. Grandpa said that she walked around a bit with the help of a cane. We all have our paws crossed that she'll be able to go home tomorrow. Uncle Bey Bey must be worried sick about her. Please continue to keep your paws crossed for complete healing for our Grandma. We miss reading your bloggies and hope to catch up with you all this weekend.

The Power of the Paw

Our Grandma is not doing well. We were all woken up at 6:00 this morning by Grandma calling Mommy to tell her that she wasn't feeling well and that Mommy needed to get to work earlier than usual. When Mommy got there Grandma was starting to show symptoms of a person having a stroke. So Grandma was rushed to the hospital where they found some bleeding in her brain. She is feeling a little better now that she has been stabilized but she is spending the night in the critical care section of the hospital. Mommy went to see her right after work and said her spirits were up but she wanted everyone to go home and rest since it had been a such a traumatic day. Poor Uncle Bey Bey, he must be wondering where his Mommy is.

Waiting for Mommy

We love it when we can see out through our front door.

Mommy was gone all day. She celebrated Mother's Day today with Grandma by taking her to get a massage. Look at the size of the hotel...wow.

Grandma looks so excited to start her spa day. Grandma LOVED her therapeutic massage and her time in the steam room and sauna. Mommy says maybe she'll go with Grandma one day even though she's not into massages.

We loved having Daddy home with us but boy were we excited when Mommy came home.

P.S. We would LOVE to have you all over one day to join us in our play time. Wouldn't that be too much fun?!

Guess who came over...

...yesterday? Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Bey Bey, Mommy's auntie, uncle and cousins. They were all here to celebrate Grandma's birthday which is today. We dined on grilled steak, BBQ chicken, grilled asparagus, and au gratin potatoes. For dessert, Mommy made banana cupcakes with caramel buttercream. OMD...everything was delicious! Doesn't Sierra look like she's ready to punce on Uncle Bey Bey?

Happy Birthday to the best Grandma a pup could ever have!

Do you like...

...my new yard, Grandpa? I love it!!!

There's even a toilet in the backyard for humans. Both of my Grandpa's were at our new house today to help paint, clean, and to do some minor repairs.

Mommy and Daddy were amazed by how hard they worked.

Even after a 12 hour day they never let up.

Uncle Bey Bey came over too to supervise and to take a little nap with Grandma.

Once upon a time...

way before I was ever born, Grandma and Grandpa went on vacation to Alaska. How funny is it that they bought these little polar bears for my Mommy. Do you see any resemblance? I know what you are thinking, but there is no relation. Who knew Mommy liked stuffies too. Later, if the big one's not looking I think I'll see if I can make the little one squeak. I know, I'm so bad.

Week ten in the garden

We couldn't believe how much our potato plants grew this week. Sierra and I counted twenty seven plants!
We transported some of our seedlings into bigger pots.
The turnips are beginning to sprout.
I think our mint plants have grown just a tiny bit.
Look at these gorgeous strawberries. We harvested these today. We didn't get to eat any of them today. It was a busy day. I'm keeping my paws crossed for tomorrow.
Here is a glimpse of Grandma and Grandpa's plum tree. It's a huge tree and we can't wait to harvest all the plums. We are very excited!!!
It was Grandma's birthday today. All the humans went out to dinner to celebrate. Can you believe there weren't any leftovers? Ugh! Mommy made a homemade vanilla cake with chocolate frosting for Grandma. It was served wit vanilla ice cream. Did I mention it was delicious? So delicious that we forgot to take pictures. But all the pups had our share of vanilla cake (minus the frosting) and ice cream. Hurray for birthdays!!!

Garage Sale Saturday

Mommy and Daddy worked well into the early hours this morning getting ready for our garage sale. We are very thankful for such a great turn out. Guess who came to our garage sale? Our neighbor, Raiden. He is six months old and still growing. We didn't get to play since I was a little cautious of him (he hasn't had his big boy surgery).
Then Grandma, Uncle Bey Bey, and our cousins came over to help. Have I told you what a great sales person my Grandma is? Here she is showing people just how comfortable our futon is. The futon sold minutes after she was resting on it.
After a hard day of work, we all had a delicious Grandma made lunch of sushi and kalbi. Uncle Bey Bey made himself at home on my couch. He even napped with me and Mommy on my couch. Then we all went for a walk. The sun was out and there was a cool breeze.
After everyone left, we headed over to Grandpa's house to do some cleaning. The kitchen is almost done. Just a little paint and some switch covers and we'll be set. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Sadderday number nine

Daddy woke up pretty early this morning. Later than he does for work but earlier than he usually does on a Saturday. He was going to help Grandpa with some things at his house. Then Mommy left late in the afternoon...without us. Can you believe that? She said she was going to my cousin's 1st birthday pawty. No pups allowed. Daddy came home a little while after Mommy left. We went for a walk before the rain came back. It rained last night and it is supposed to rain all week. Ok, back to Mommy. After my cousin's party, Mommy went to see Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Bey Bey, and Auntie Sheila. Mommy says Auntie Sheila has gotten big. Just look at the size of her paws. They might be as big as mine already. She and Uncle Bey Bey love to play together. Not to worry friends. It may seem like Auntie Sheila is winning but I'm told that in the end, it's Uncle Bey Bey who comes out on top.

Guess who...

...Mommy met today? Auntie Sheila! She is not ready to meet us just yet. Mommy and Daddy say we can meet her after she's had all her shots. Digby and Prinnie are right, she is going to be HUGE! She already has big ears and big feet. I can tell it's not going to be easy taming her. She's already bigger than Uncle Bey Bey. Grandma and Grandpa say she sleeps all the time because she is growing and growing. All that growing makes Auntie Sheila very sleepy.

Sierra's Scoop

Uncle Bey Bey came home with Mommy yesterday. Grandma said it was not safe for him at home after the bad guys broke in. So he'll be visiting for a few days. Uncle Bey Bey brought his bed and is favorite blanket. I wish he brought his squeaky bone. Teddy and I have been trying to get our paws on it for as long as I can remember. Uncle Bey Bey usually hides it whenever we come over. One thing is for sure...with all these boys in the house, I don't have a moment of privacy. I'm going to my room now.

Week thirty five in the garden

Thirty five weeks, friends. Can you believe it? We helped Daddy harvest the Japanese sweet potatoes today. We were all SO excited to see what was underneath all the dirt. We were very happy to find lots of Japanese sweet potatoes in all sorts of sizes. These sweet potatoes are so tasty. If you haven't tried them, I hope you try some soon. Grandma and Grandpa love these so we will be giving most of sweet potatoes to them. We also harvested our cantaloupe. We hope that it will be sweet. Mommy says we'll have it for breakfast tomorrow. We also harvested one tomato today. We hope it's not the last of them since we have a ton of green tomatoes left. We went on a great hike today. I'll leave you with one picture that Mommy took of me in the leaves. The more exciting photos will come tomorrow.
