Happy Birthday Grandpa

Today was Grandpa's birthday so we spent the day at his house. We had a yummy dinner and then a not so yummy cake. All the cakes at the store were decorated for Christmas so Daddy picked the Santa cake. Unfortunately it was awful. At least we had good company right?

Day trip to Ebbetts Pass

Today Grandpa wanted to go scouting for deer so we went for a long car ride to Ebbetts Pass. Grandpa parked on the side of the road and we hiked
down to a creek to look for deer sign. After tracking down some deer trails we came up empty pawed. Better luck next time Papa.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!!!

We went to visit Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Bey Bey to celebrate Grandpa's 52nd birthday. Wow. My pawrents don't understand it but I love this dome heater that Grandma has. I find it very fascinating. They know it's not because of the heat since I never get cold.

Grandpa had spent the day golfing with his buddies and then went out to his birthday dinner. We were waiting and waiting for him to come home so we could have some...

...sweet pecan potato praline pie and presents.

Grandpa got suckered into going out for karaoke so we weren't able to see him for his birthday or see him open his present. We did bring home a few pieces of the pie that Mommy made. We can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving Take Two

Since Mommy and Daddy spent Thanksgiving Day with Daddy's family. Today was our turn with Mommy's family. Look at that turkey. Mommy has roasted many chickens but this was her first turkey. It turned out delicious.

The table is set.

We are SO ready for dinner to begin.

Daddy thought it would be fun to watch a movie. I wonder what Grandma and Great Auntie are talking about?

He picked "Little Monsters." Grandpa and Mommy's Cousins thought it was a great movie. (We missed our Great Uncle today since he was at work).

Even though there aren't any pictures to prove it, he food was delicious. Turkey, herbed mashed potatoes, green beans with onions and mushrooms, grilled asparagus, soaked buttermilk biscuits, and of course, Korean BBQ...oh my! Dessert was pumpkin pie and buttermilk apple pie. Mommy was quite busy all day. This was Mommy and Daddy's very first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner. It's hard to snap away with the camera when you're hosting. Maybe we'll get better at it next year.

The Grandma and Bey Bey reunion

Today I thought we were all going to see Grandma at Fairmont Rehabilitation Hospital, but instead we went to uncle Bey Bey's house. Sierra and I stayed with Auntie Sheila while Mommy and Daddy took uncle Bey Bey to go visit Grandma. She said she was feeling a little better today and was very glad to see every one. She didn't see Uncle Bey Bey for nine whole days so Grandma was especially happy to see him. She even started to cry when Mommy told her that uncle Bey Bey was waiting outside for her. That was the best part of the day for Mommy and Daddy. The worst part was when Mommy left her house keys on grandpa's counter so after driving all the way home ( only 45 minutes) we turned around and did it all over again. So when we finally arrived home a little after 12:20 am, we were totally exhausted. Mommy hit the couch, Daddy laid on the floor under the ceiling fan, and while Sierra was jumping onto the other couch I was laying down next to Daddy. After we took a short little midnight nap, Mommy got up to give me my vitamins and Daddy had to go change a bulb in the motion light in the front of our house. Today was a long day so I am looking forward to good night sleep. See you all tomorrow.

Fun on a Friday

Guess who is visiting for a couple days? Its uncle Bey Bey, Grandpa went to Mexico for a day and Grandma is still at the rehabilitation hospital recovering from her stroke. We had a great time hanging out and playing. How was your day?

Project Day

Number 321 on Mommy and Daddy's bazillion list of projects was getting a new sliding glass door since the latch on our old door broke last week. Daddy met Grandpa at Home Depot bright and early this morning so they could get to work. Bye bye, old door.

Door number one went in without a hitch.

Door number two in. Daddy and Grandpa checked and double checked everything to make sure that our new door was secure. All that's left is to put the trim back where it belongs.

Today's project didn't take nearly as long as we thought it would. That left us with plenty of time to play, get belly rubs, go for a long walkie and of course our favorite, treat time. We hope you're all having a fantastic weekend.

Look who...

came over bright and early this morning. Grandpa and his employees came to put some new gutters on our house.

Look at Grandpa and Chu Chu hard at work.

Bye bye, old gutters.

Hello, new gutters!

Guess who was here all day to play and is now staying for a slumber pawty? Uncle Bey Bey!

We're so very thankful that Grandpa has a great rain gutter business and that he was able to put such nice gutters on our new home. We love them and we love you!

Do you like...

...my new yard, Grandpa? I love it!!!

There's even a toilet in the backyard for humans. Both of my Grandpa's were at our new house today to help paint, clean, and to do some minor repairs.

Mommy and Daddy were amazed by how hard they worked.

Even after a 12 hour day they never let up.

Uncle Bey Bey came over too to supervise and to take a little nap with Grandma.

Look what Grandpa...

brought home for us. Some Newman's Own Organic cookies. Mommy usually makes all our cookies at home but Grandpa saw these at the store and he said they were a steal. Salmon and sweet potato cookies? Hmmmmmm.

They smell pretty good to me.

Sierra loves them!

How would you like to try a bag of these yummy cookies? (Grandpa brought home three bags). Simply leave a comment for one entry. Blog about about it on your blog and leave another comment letting us know you did for another entry. We'll pick the winner on Monday.

Happy weekend, everyone!!!

Happy Birthday...

...Grandpa! Is that crab I smell?

Uncle Bey Bey wanted to get some of the crab too. It was delicious!

Grandma was nice and only put a few candles on Grandpa's cake. We're so glad we were able to share this special day with our Grandpa!

Once upon a time...

way before I was ever born, Grandma and Grandpa went on vacation to Alaska. How funny is it that they bought these little polar bears for my Mommy. Do you see any resemblance? I know what you are thinking, but there is no relation. Who knew Mommy liked stuffies too. Later, if the big one's not looking I think I'll see if I can make the little one squeak. I know, I'm so bad.

Sierra's Scoop

Today is a my Grandpa's 61st birthday. Happy Birthday, Grandpa!!! We had a little pawty for him tonight. Mommy made a yummy pot roast and baked one of her super delicious, organic vanilla cake with chocolate frosting.
Grandpa was so excited to try the cake he didn't blow out the candle until after he took his first bite. Here he is trying to blow out a candle with food in his mouth. Besides making him a yummy dinner and cake, Daddy and Mommy also bought Grandpa an assortment of Arturo Fuente cigars to enjoy while he goes golfing. The best part was after Grandpa finally blew out his candle, Teddy Bear and I got to enjoy our very own pieces of cake minus the home made chocolate frosting. We were in Doggy Heaven.

Mommy and Daddy...

... woke up and left really early today. Mommy said they had a lot to do and it would be way too hot outside for Sierra and I to go with them. It seemed like more than nine hours but that's what Daddy said it was. Grandpa stayed home with us today because he loves us so much. He gave us our lunch cookies right on time and also let us outside whenever we needed. Mommy said she was going to bring home a big surprise for me and I couldn't wait. I thought about all the yummy things she has brought me in the past. Boy oh boy was I surprised all right. Have you ever tasted a fresh picked blueberry? I thought the frozen ones were little berries from heaven but oh no, I was wrong. The heavenly ones come from Jessop Farms in Ripon, CA. They are one of our snack time favorites, can you tell?

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for grass fed beef. It's been almost one year since our last order. There is one quarter of a grass fed cow in our freezer right now. Steaks, hamburgers, roasts, and so many other delicious things are in the future. The A/C man still hasn't come to our house. I don't know what's taking him so long but he better be glad it wasn't too hot this week. Maybe I should get his phone number from Grandpa and give him a call. What do you think?

Sierra's Scoop

Whenever Grandpa isn't sitting in his recliner I like to lie on it. The leather is as smooth as butter and extra, extra soft. I love to lounge around and watch TV. I love most of the shows on the Animal Planet and The National Geographic Channel. I just can't figure out how to make it recline. Daddy said it's only for grown ups and I might get hurt so I guess I'll listen to him this time. Any of you pups out there know how to make the chair recline???

Garage Sale Saturday

Mommy and Daddy worked well into the early hours this morning getting ready for our garage sale. We are very thankful for such a great turn out. Guess who came to our garage sale? Our neighbor, Raiden. He is six months old and still growing. We didn't get to play since I was a little cautious of him (he hasn't had his big boy surgery).
Then Grandma, Uncle Bey Bey, and our cousins came over to help. Have I told you what a great sales person my Grandma is? Here she is showing people just how comfortable our futon is. The futon sold minutes after she was resting on it.
After a hard day of work, we all had a delicious Grandma made lunch of sushi and kalbi. Uncle Bey Bey made himself at home on my couch. He even napped with me and Mommy on my couch. Then we all went for a walk. The sun was out and there was a cool breeze.
After everyone left, we headed over to Grandpa's house to do some cleaning. The kitchen is almost done. Just a little paint and some switch covers and we'll be set. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

A walk around the new neighborhood

It was another work day for us at Grandpa's house today. After working hard all day we went for a long walk. Mommy and Daddy thought we should become familiar with our soon to be new neighborhood. First we walked past an almond ranch. The almond trees were in full bloom. There were TONS of bees pollinating above the trees. The ground was covered with white petals. It looked a lot like snow...I wish it was snow. Back to our walk. We saw two horses today. I wish I could've gotten closer to them. Maybe on another day. Then we saw two Border Collies at another property. They were very friendly. Maybe Sierra and I can play with them soon. We also this giant St. Bernard. We've never seen one in person before. I'll have to think twice about playing with him.
