Sierra's Scoop

All I can say is WOW! How does Daddy see through these things? I think his glasses must be broken. Does his world always look this fuzzy? I tried to see with both eyes open and then with one eye shut. I tried really hard to focus but all I saw was a big blur. I think he was hoping it would make me look smart, did it work? As much as I love my Daddy this was not one of his best ideas because I need an Excedrin for dogs.

Look at...

...all these fancy cars. On Sunday, Mommy and Daddy went with Grandpa and one of our cousins to the International Car Show in San Francisco.

There was an obstacle course at the entrance. Daddy thought it would be fun to drive through it but there was a long line.

Look at this cool BMW Isetta 300. I think it's one of the smallest cars I've seen.

There were lots of cars that were so expensive that you couldn't even touch them...like this Porsche Carrera GT.

Daddy's favorite was this Lexus LFA. It won't be available until 2012.

It's almost the end of gardening season. I'm still hopeful that we will still get a few more days of sunshine before the rest of our garden dies off completely. We had a few nights of freezing temperatures but that was enough to kill the tomatoes. Almost all of our garden is dead.

Our cucumber plant did not make it.

We're thankful our parsley did.

The jalapenos look pretty good.

And so does the broccoli.

And the kale.

And the lettuce.

Do you have anything growing in your garden right now?

Samsung Saturday

Today, Grandpa wanted to go with Daddy and Mommy to Costco to look for a new TV. They were going to buy some groceries, household supplies, and return a broken vacuum we purchased last winter. While Daddy was trying to convince Mommy that we should upgrade to the Dyson Ball DC-25 Animal Plus, Grandpa was picking out the biggest TV he could find. It was so big that it barely fit into Mommy's SUV. Daddy even had to lay on his side behind the front seats just to get it home. Once they carried the new TV in I was shocked by how big the box was. After a quick photo shoot it was time to get busy.

First they removed the old TV.

Then they transferred the brackets to hang it on the wall onto the new one, then Daddy installed a couple of new cables and set up the internet connection.

Not only does Grandpa's living room feel like a movie theatre but it is now a portal to the world wide web.

Today was...

...a great day to catch up on rest after all the festivities yesterday. We napped a lot. Daddy and Grandpa played golf. Mommy had lunch with a friend who was in town from L.A. I think one of the best things about Thanksgiving is that there are so many leftovers. Here we are waiting for Mommy to give us some turkey. How did you spend the day today?

Thankful Thursday

Gobble Gobble... Happy Thanksgiving. Mommy has been busy cooking for two days straight. Today we went Uncle Bey Bey's house to hang out with our family and eat lots of good food. Uncle Bey Bey had to go outside to check things out. There was an amazing aroma coming from the grille.

Grandpa was grilling Korean BBQ. Daddy calls this my birthday meat because every time Grandpa gave it to me he said it was my birthday.

Here is Mommy making the gravy and putting the finishing touches on her green beans.

Look at all that scrumptious food. We didn't get our own plates this year but we got plenty of turkey, Korean BBQ, and chicken.

Everyone had fun singing karaoke. Daddy was singing the Elvis song, "Teddy Bear" but all I could think about was Grandpa eating the shortbread made by Mommy.

My patience paid off and Grandpa finally let me have some.

Sierra even got to do a little karaoke.

We hope you all have a fun and blessed day. We loved being with our family during this special time of year.

Sierra's Scoop

Warning: There is a freeze alert for our area tonight. Mommy is very worried about her garden so Daddy covered all the plants with plastic hoping to save them from the first frost. The sad news is Daddy couldn't cover the tomato plants. So if the temperatures drop into the 20's like the weatherman said it would then we definitely won't be seeing any more tomatoes. Hopefully the plastic works and keeps what we did cover safe for just a little while longer.

I stayed outside with Daddy to make sure he was ok working in the dark.

Baby Shower Fun

We wanted to share a bit from Milo's pawrents' baby shower.

Check out Lily patiently waiting at the chocolate fountain table. If you biggify the picture you can see me underneath the table.

Look at these pretty cupcakes. No, we didn't get any.

This was during the guess the baby food game. Milo's Dad had just eaten a spoonful of mayonnaise. Yuck! Don't you love the look on his face?

We are so happy for Milo and his pawrents. We can't wait to meet Milo's Sister.

Week thirty nine in the garden

Our broccoli florets have finally arrived!

Our lemon balm is looking and smelling great.

And so is our rosemary.

The sweet potato leaves look super lush and green. We hope that means there are lots of sweet potatoes growing.

Can you believe our bell pepper plant has started growing peppers again?

The leaves on our tomato plant look like we're in the middle of July. We hope to get another crop before first frost.

There are strawberries growing!!!

Don't you think the lettuce looks like a flower?

Super Snowy Saturday

Look at all the snow!!! Today we went to Milo's Mommy's baby shower in Pollock Pines. There was snow everywhere. I couldn't get enough of it. I like to bury my face in it and roll around in the powder. What a blast! Milo's Grandma has three Goldens and they are all very beautiful and very polite to house guests. I'm still dreaming about all the snow. Milo and I had a great time playing outside. We'll share more baby shower fun later this week.

Fun on a Friday

It was not all fun and games today but by the end of the day it turned out pretty good. First, I totally slept in! There was a nice cool breeze blowing this morning and I couldn't help but dream about playing in the snow.

Then this afternoon Mommy left Sierra and me home alone...again. This is the third time this week. Even though she went to see family that is only visiting for a short time I am still a little jealous. It wasn't too long before Daddy came home from work and took us on a walk. He said we had to hurry because a storm was blowing in and hurry we did. Half way through our walk, we started running just to avoid getting soaked. Right after Sierra and I ate dinner, Grandpa came home with a Papa Murphy's pizza. It was half Hawaiian and half all meat. You know what that means, right? Pizza Bones! Daddy has a bad habit of eating all the pizza bones but I put on my best sad face and sat right next to him practically drooling on his plate. I don't know if it was sympathy or the drool on his pizza but I was finally rewarded for my patience. Ok, so the very best part of today didn't happen until tonight. It was the moment I heard Mommy's truck pull up. We ran out to greet her. She gave me a hug and a back scratch that I will not soon forget. After a long day like this I just might need to sleep in tomorrow too.

Look what...

...came in the mail today. I've never seen a package that came in a long tube. Have you ever seen something like this? There was a poster inside. The UPS man also brought a CD. Mommy has been eagerly waiting for this CD. It is one of her closest friends, Nathan. If you've never heard of him, please check out his music. We are sure you'll be hearing him on the radio really soon.

Sierra's Scoop

Daddy took a picture of me with the night vision setting on his camera. Do you like it? Do I look scary? Sometimes I forget that humans don't see very well in the darkness like I can. How did they survive before electricity?

Monday, November 15, 2010

Look what...

...the UPS man delivered today. It's a good thing too because we only had two left. I told Mommy that's cutting it a little too close. These little treats come all the way from Rhode Island. What if a snow storm or a bad weather had delayed the shipment? Oh the torment we go through everyday just waiting for my after dinner Greenie.

Week thirty eight in the garden

Our thyme is finally starting to take off.

We're very happy to see how great our kale is doing.

We have our paws crossed that there are lots of sweet potatoes under all that dirt.

Our tomato plants are super lush and green. We hope to get lots of tomatoes before first frost.

And can you believe there are still jalapenos growing?

Our broccoli plant looks healthy but we are still waiting for the florets to appear.
