Happy Howl-O-Ween

Hey, Brother, do you think all this candy is for us?! I wonder if we'd get sick from eating all this candy. Hmmmm. What did you say? What do you mean this is not for us? It's for the Trick or Treaters? Are they bringing us some doggie treats since we're giving them chocolate treats?

We sure hope they are.

We hope your day was filled with lots pumpkins, candy and more treats than tricks. We sure enjoyed seeing all the little ones in their fun costumes.

Week thirty one in the garden

As you can tell, the chard is doing great. The come back king, our champion of the garden. All hail the chard!

Daddy was thumping the melon today and it sounded hollow but the stem was still not ready to fall off so we didn't pick it yet.

The cherry tomatoes are still producing so we're very happy about that. It's funny how I'm not allowed to eat grapes but I can eat tiny little tomatoes. Hmmmm.

Kale, kale, and more kale. Kale never stops growing around here. Maybe we should start a kale business.

Mommy threw about that much basil into her soup the other day. It's amazing how it replenished itself.

Well San Marzano's...better late than never is what they say so I shouldn't complain about how late you showed up. Talk about a late bloomer.

Do you like...

...my sticker? I don't. It's too bad there was only one sticker. Why, you ask? Because Sierra loves wearing stickers. It must be all the treats we get for patiently wearing them during the photo shoot. How do you feel about wearing stickers?

Black and white...

We love black and white photos but this one was need some adjusting. After a little editing magic, it is a work of art. Mommy wants a huge one like this on canvas so she can hang it over our couch. Daddy said maybe someday after he learns to paint.

Boo

Did we scare you? Things are starting to get festive around here...well sort of. Mommy and Daddy have both been so busy that decorating has not been a top priority. We did hear some talk of Howl-O-Ween candy. We wonder if this means we get candy too? Are things starting to look scary at your house?

Sierra's Scoop

While we were at High Hill Ranch in Apple Hill we walked passed a large barn converted into a store. After reading the sign posted by the front door, Daddy quickly picked up Teddy and started to walk in but Mommy stopped him in his tracks. She had a better idea. So instead of going inside Daddy waited outside with us while Mommy went inside to look around at some of the great stuff for sale. Teddy and I were all for being carried into the store. But Mommy said we would've gotten heavy after a while.

Furry friends at Apple Hill

Did you know that Mommy's other favorite animal besides me and Sierra are baby horses? She would have a dozen of them if we lived on a large piece of land.

This is a rescue Wolfie looking for a furever home. If we had lots and lots of property we would so set up a sanctuary for him.

I think everyone was in love with this ten year old Pom Pom.

I've never felt like a mini me before but when I saw this Sammy named Sammy I felt like I was looking in a fun house mirror.

Daddy says this is the proper way to greet each other in Italy.

Talk about riding in style. These pups have their own radio flyer.

Is that another Eskie that we see?

It's very nice to meet you, Kai. Let's play!

This adorable red Husky with his blue eyes was too cute. We tried to meet him but he was constantly on the go. Mommy loved that he matched his Mommy's boots.

Week thirty in the garden

Thankfully for our melons it has been sunny and in the eighties over the last week. I just wish I could make them hurry up and grow.

Our lovely purple bell peppers. It's funny how they start out green, then turn purple, only to finish by turning red.

Daddy scattered carrot seeds a while ago and had since forgotten about them until today. There are only a few out there but they are hiding in the watermelon vines.

Yes that is the plant that won't die. It was nothing but a stump a month ago. Swiss chard has been a pretty amazing part of our garden.

Hoop houses and row covers are in our near future but the San Marzano tomatoes are going to be the first thing Daddy covers with a mini green house. We are going to keep this vine growing as long as possible.

Today we went...

...to Apple Hill. Mommy has been wanting to go there for years so this was a real treat for her.

There weren't very many apples on the trees but there were

crates and crates full of apples everywhere we went.

And lots of crafts and homemade goodies like this pawesome Bichon scarf. Too bad we don't have any Bichon friends.

Look at this giant pumpkin that we saw. Mommy and Aunties look like they want to take a picture with the biggest pumpkin that they've seen in a long time.

I guess I better jump up there.

Ok now that's better. On with the photo shoot, Daddy!

It was nice to rest in the shade after a long of walking and meeting so many people who wanted to say hi to us.

We only had time to stop at one other place...Abel's Acres for a few buttermilk apple pies and

a dozen apple cider donuts that are out of this world. I know what you're thinking...an entire dozen for just the 4 of us? That doesn't seem like enough...does it?

We can't wait to show you all the cool furry friends we met today.

Bug Off chewables

First of all, I would like to start by telling you that neither Sierra nor myself has fleas. That doesn't mean we never get them. Mommy and Daddy just take control of the problem before it gets out of hand. Poison is not my friend, so I don't like any poured on my back, so we just started taking Bug Off garlic tabs from Springtime and I hope to never see a flea again. Garlic is a natural bug repellant so next time we are around fleas they won't want to jump on us because we will have garlic coming out of our pores.
They are really tasty too even if they do give me garlic breath.

Thankful Thursday

As you know, I love to sleep under things including places I really don't fit . That is until now, thanks to Bed Bath and Beyond we are going to raise the bed in our spare room. These are the seven inch lifts but we are going to take them back to exchange for shorter ones. I am so excited for my new place to go hide.

Sierra's Scoop

So here is the cutest picture of me ever. Daddy saw it while Mommy was picking a photo for last nights blog. Wow, am I a little fox or what?

Wishing we were here

Now is the time of year when it starts to get colder and we get to go play in the snow. We have thick coats so cold weather is our favorite kind of weather. In fact, when we dream, we dream of being in the snow. Hurry and come to us oh white stuff!!!

Week twenty nine in the garden

Lemon balm has kept Mommy and Daddy's tea tasting really yummy this summer.

Now that Summer is over and Fall has begun the San Marzano's are doing really well.

Only two weeks ago, Daddy pulled off all the leaves from our swiss chard. It sure didn't take long for them to make a strong comeback.
Our chives are growing better now that the chard isn't crowding it out.

This parsley shrub pales in comparison with the parsley tree we grew last year.

Look how hearty the kale looks. I guess that's why they call it a super food.

Somebody better get out here and pick some broccoli soon! It looks ready to me.

Watermelon? We still have a watermelon out there? I hope it's ready soon. We're almost out of time.

We hope you all had a pawesome weekend!

Look pretty...

That's the new trick I am learning. It has been a while a since I learned a new trick but I am already getting this one down. I wish I could learn a new trick everyday since I get a lot of treats during lesson time. It must be trick and treat season.
