Week twenty four in the garden

We have another red mini bell pepper!!! There are about ten peppers that have yet to change color.
This pomegranate tree needs to go into the ground. We're having a tough time finding the pawfect place.
We didn't have room to plant sweet potatoes this year. The slips are doing so well that we're wondering if there is a way to keep them alive until next May/June.
We harvested the onions and they are ready to go into tomato night's dinner.

Week thirty nine in the garden

Our broccoli florets have finally arrived!

Our lemon balm is looking and smelling great.

And so is our rosemary.

The sweet potato leaves look super lush and green. We hope that means there are lots of sweet potatoes growing.

Can you believe our bell pepper plant has started growing peppers again?

The leaves on our tomato plant look like we're in the middle of July. We hope to get another crop before first frost.

There are strawberries growing!!!

Don't you think the lettuce looks like a flower?

Week thirty eight in the garden

Our thyme is finally starting to take off.

We're very happy to see how great our kale is doing.

We have our paws crossed that there are lots of sweet potatoes under all that dirt.

Our tomato plants are super lush and green. We hope to get lots of tomatoes before first frost.

And can you believe there are still jalapenos growing?

Our broccoli plant looks healthy but we are still waiting for the florets to appear.

Week thirty five in the garden

This butternut squash almost looks ready for harvest.
Our broccoli is growing beautifully.
Can you believe there are strawberries growing in autumn?
And would you believe that our watermelon is still not ready for harvest?
Our sweet potatoes are thriving.
And we still have lots and lots of tomatoes coming in.
We hope everyone had a great weekend!

Week thirty four in the garden

Our broccoli is really starting to take off!
We still have lots of jalapenos growing.
I am really hoping that our watermelon will be ready soon. Daddy says we have to wait until the vine starts turning brown.
Mommy loves our parsley plant lasts all year long.
We still have lots of tomatoes coming in.
This onion almost looks like a pineapple.
Who knew basil could be so pretty?
Our sweet potatoes look like they are on track to be ready for harvest at the end of November.

This onion looks ready to be harvested. What do you think?
We have lots of green tomatoes...
that we are hoping will turn into this golden/orange color.
Our sweet potatoes are growing fast!
Daddy doesn't think it's time to harvest the watermelon yet.
We are thankful to have lots of cucumbers still coming in. We harvested four of them last week.
Mommy just loves butternut squash.
We hope everyone had a great weekend!

Week thirty one in the garden

A lot of you guessed where I was in yesterday's picture...Lake Tahoe. We had a pawesome weekend at one of my most favorite places. I can't wait to share pictures from our weekend. We got home a little later than usual. It was dark so we will post pictures of our veggie garden tomorrow. We can't wait to catch up on what happened over the weekend in DWB land.

Mommy and Daddy eat salad with dinner every night. Can you believe how fast lettuce grows?
I wonder if our butternut squash is ready to harvest.
Daddy thinks the jalapenos are almost ready.
Our sweet potatoes are doing great!
Here is our winter broccoli.
I'm so ready to eat this watermelon.
We've harvested lots of onion this summer and Daddy is glad to have so much more growing.
And of course, we have lots and lots of tomatoes...gold, red, green.

Week thirty in the garden

Has it really been thirty weeks? Time sure flies when you're having fun. I think Daddy should start a zucchini business. What do you think? I think we've harvested more zucchini than anything else this summer.
We were so happy to see more cucumbers. There was a clog in our drip system and the cucumber plant didn't get watered for two whole days. You can tell from the dry, crunchy looking leaves.
I'm ready for this watermelon to be ready.
Look at how tall one of our heirloom tomato plants has grown.
And we're happy to see lots of tomatoes. They'll start turning a pretty golden/reddish color soon.
Our sweet potatoes are thriving!
Our thyme is definitely trying. We hope it grows and grows so Mommy will have a lot of it to store away for winter.
P.S. Daddy got home before Mommy did today. Daddy and Grandpa had a great weekend away...relaxing, golfing, and eating lots and lots of good food and dessert. I think he forgot my doggy bag. We'll forgive him this time since we were so excited to see him after almost three days.
