It's that one of year again

This is my least favorite time of year. The time of year when I have to go to the Vet. Let the fun begin!

Our friend Boogie...

...had a procedure done today. His parents noticed something on his ear. They thought it was a tick but the Vet said it was a hematoma. Today the Vet tool care of Boogie's hematoma. His Mommy said he is a little out of it and that he cries every now and then. We sure hope you feel better soon, Boogie!

Did Mommy...

...go to work for a VET? We can smell other furry friends on her almost every day. We're not sure how we feel about her seeing other pups and not being able to be at work with her. If other pups are allowed to visit Mommy at work we think we should go to work with Mommy every now and then.

Sierra's Scoop

Hi everyone it's Sierra. Guess who has a vet appointment soon? That's right, yours truly. Today a postcard came addressed to me and at first I was excited but then Mommy explained it was from my doctor. It is time for my rabies vaccination so now I'm a little nervous. I don't know anyone who likes getting shots so I will be counting the days till then.

Sierra's Scoop

We received an award from Haopee at My Dogs Love Me.
The Illuminating Blogger Award required us to share one interesting fact about ourselves and for it to be forwarded to others. 1. Sierra loves to be scratched. Anytime. Anywhere. She could be scratched all day. 2. Teddy loves the cold, especially the snow. It can be the dead of winter and he wants to be outside...even if it's ten o'clock at night. 3. Daddy loves snowboarding. He wishes he could've been a professional snowboarder...doing what he loves all day long. 4. Mommy loves animals of all sorts. She wishes she would've went to school to be a Vet. We want to pass this award along to all our friends who want to pawticipate. It's always fun getting to know each other better.

Can you guess...

...where I am? That's right, the VET. This is my least favorite place to be. (Insert a very, very SAD face).
Can someone please come and rescue me?
Ok, all the "fun" is over. Let's get out of here, Mommy!!!
I did have an okay VET visit. It was time for my annual wellness exam and heartworm test. I squealed and barked like any pup would that's going to the VET. We met some cute chihuahuas named Pumpkin and Tiger. Then it was time to go to the exam room and onto the metal table. The DR. checked all my vitals...teeth, heartbeat, ears, eyes, and all that other necessary stuff. Next it was time for the DR. to steal some blood from me. Of course he wanted to muzzle me but the VET TECH said that it was ok. Really? Wow! She must know that I am just terrified to be there and I would never hurt anyone. After the blood robbery, it was time to get on the scale. Oh boy! I weigh 49 lbs. There were some "D" words (diet) and "H" (husky) words going through Mommy's head. But the VET TECH never said I was overweight. As soon as we got in our truck, Mommy said told me that I am not fat but a little husky and that I needed to start a D-I-E-T. WHAT?! And guess what? The diet started today. We went for our second walkie after dinner and Mommy has already cut down on snack time. Here we go!

Sierra Update

Hi everyone! I don't who's been calling me a sickie, but I was just at the vet and Dr. Johnson said I don't need to go back anytime soon. And besides, I am feeling a lot better today. I've got my appetite back and my tummy feels better. So now it's time to play ball.

Sickie Sierra

Sierra hasn't been feeling very well since last night. If she doesn't feel better by tomorrow then she'll have to go to the VET on Saturday. I've got my paws crossed that she feels better soon...because if she has to go to the VET then I'll have to go for moral support. And we all know that the VET is my least favorite place to go. Please keep your paws crossed for my little Sister.

Dirty Friday

Well guess where we went today? We went to Daddy's work.

Sierra had a five p.m. VET appointment for some routine shots so I assured her that the shots wouldn't hurt too much.
Whenever we spend the day at Daddy's work we come home with dirty paws that make us look like we are wearing little black socks. Then we leave dirty little foot steps all over the carpet and upholstery.

Daddy must have cleaned the floors this week before we got there because they weren't too bad this time. Daddy also did a good job of covering most of the floor in his office with a clean drop cloth. I am glad to report our feet didn't get too dirty but even after all that, I get the feeling that it's still gonna be bath time very soon.

Sierra's Scoop

It is always nice to receive a postcard in the mail. But on this occasion, I'm not so sure. It sounds like Dr. Johnson wants to give me another shot of medicine and that is not ok with me. I know I need it but I don't want it. I hope Teddy Bear goes with me, that way I won't be the only scaredy cat in the waiting room. Hee hee.

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday everyone, it's Sierra! Thank you all so much for the well wishes. I am definitely feeling better. But I still have the coughs in the morning and when I get super excited. The honey helps soothe my throat and cough. If I'm not better by tomorrow, Daddy says I'll have to visit the VET. Gasp! Not the VET. I better eat lots of honey so I don't have a coughing fit in the morning. I thought I would join Mommy for a little cat nap today. She has been working very hard at Grandma's deli lately. Then she comes home and does more work for us. I think she deserves a little power nap.

Not so Fun on a Friday

Oh how embarrassing! I caused a big scene at the Vet today. I was crying and shaking and leaving pee-mail all over the place. They even had to muzzle me because the dolphin cry I was letting out was close to shattering the windows. I know it sounds like a little too much drama for me. But this is all because when I was a just a baby I had to stay overnight after my big boy surgery. That was one of my very first doctor visits and I had never been away from Mommy and Daddy before. So now whenever I'm there, I am always ready to run out the door the first chance I get. At least I made it home safely tonight and my yearly heart worm test came back negative. Now we're off to Teddy's Territory for some more painting. See you soon!

Guess where...

...I went today? To my least favorite place...the VET. Here I am hiding behind Mommy's legs.

If you watch closely, you can actually see me shaking. This was the first time I've done that at the VET. I really, really don't like it there.

We got out of there quickly after I got my Rabies Vaccination and a wellness exam. I am in pawfect health. Now, let's go home!

Do I still...

...have to go to the Vet even if they've mistaken me for someone else. That pup does not look like me. Am I right?

Sadderday number twelve

For the last few days, my tummy hasn't been feeling too well. I've had the runs since Thursday night. Mommy and Daddy were hoping to ride it out since everything else was normal. (I was still playful with Sierra, still had my appetite, and was always ready for walkie time). Then this morning I vomited bile. Not that Mommy and Daddy weren't worried before but when this happened, it was time to go to the...VET. Since my regular VET wasn't in today we were referred to a different dr. Many of you know, that I can sense when we're going to my VET even before we get there. I do all I can to try and lead Mommy and Daddy away from the front door. Today was different, I thought we were going for a car ride. As soon as Daddy opened the door to the VET, I slipped out of my collar and ran the other way across the parking lot. Mommy came racing after me and gave me a hug telling me that everything was going to be ok. While we waited, I met a very intriguing kitty and came face to face wit him. Can you believe it? There were tons of other friendly pups there. Mommy wished she'd remembered to bring her camera but that was the last thing on her mind. (She took pictures with her camera phone but they were very fuzzy). I only had one accident when we got there. I was very nervous. You all know how I feel about being at the VET. Dr. Deb was very nice. That was before she invaded my privacy for a total of three times (taking my temperature, checking my abdomen and GI systems, etc.). Can you believe it? They did a bunch of tests...a fecal test, a Giardia test. Everything came out negative. Hurray, right? So the best that Dr. Deb could conclude is that it is Colitis. No idea of knowing how or where I got it. She said it could be a number of things...stress, food, you name it. She gave me some pills that do not taste yummy. I haven't had the runs since our visit to the VET. Mommy and Daddy hope it stays this way. Our bathroom trash is filled to the top with baby wipes. Oopsie. See, Mommy, I am feeling better. Can I have some treats now? Maybe I need to work on my sad face a little more.
Teddy Bear's Mommy here. Teddy seems normal, like nothing is bothering him. We've not given him any treats for the past few days. Just raw milk with pumpkin and a dinner of homemade chicken broth, brown rice, carrots, and spinach. He doesn't seem to miss his chicken but I can tell he misses his treats. We hope his meds will help him feel solid again. We've never dealt with a sick pup before and it's torture on our hearts.

Sadderday number eight

We have a mail slot on our door and when I saw this today, I wanted to hide it. It's a note from the doctor. He wants to see me so he can steal some blood and give me a shot to keep me safe from something called Parvo. Going to the Vet is my least favorite thing! First off, my doctor is pretty stern. The nurses are very nice and they all love me. And what is with the slippery metal table they put me on? It is WAY too high to be considered safe. Right? I mean, some pups and kitties go to the Vet when they are already hurt. That table is an accident waiting to happen. A visit to the Vet should mean getting healed not getting injured. And what if I want to make a break for it? Ugh! I am not looking forward to this...at all!
