Week thirty three in the garden

I am happy to report that we still have a ton of green tomatoes. We did harvest about ten big ones this week. Mommy already stewed them and put them into the freezer. Daddy was sad when he harvested the Sweet Spanish Yellow Utah Jumbo Onions today. They weren't jumbo at all. There weren't any onions. They just look like green onions/scallions. I wonder what we didn't do right. I guess we've got our work cut out for us next year. We'll have to do lots of research on how to make them grow big. Anyone have any pointers on growing onions?

  2. I think your parents are furry talented. Sorry I can't give any tips on onions. My mom doesn't have that kind of power. She kills even plants that are easy to grow. But, dont tell her I told you that. She's really sensitive about it.

  3. Did you make fried green tomatoes?
We don't know how to grow onions, sorry. We get them from the store. But I bet even your small onions were much more tasty than store bought.

  4. No onion pointers here, either, but your dad is wonderful gardener so I am sure next year's attempt will yield huge orbs. Mom won't let me eat onions, she says they are not good for dogs.
