Sierra was keeping watch as I tried to open this present I found today. Daddy found us and told us it was a present for Mommy. After Mommy opened her present, we all went to Grandpa's house to get more work done. We put more boxes into the attic and then went for a walk around our soon to be neighborhood. We heard lots of pups barking. There were so many things to see and new scents to smell. We had no problem finding our way home. We knew just where to turn when we got to Grandpa's street. Mommy got to work, looking through the last few boxes. Daddy and Grandpa finished putting together a closet unit for one bedroom and started working on Grandpa's closet organizer. Sierra and I kept busy going back and forth between Mommy and Daddy. After a hard day of work, Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner with my BFF Milo's pawrents. Too bad they didn't bring Milo. What they did bring back was this delicious little bunny. I thought it was mine. Again, Daddy said that it was for Mommy. Happy Birthday, Mommy!!!

P.S. We have not gotten into the doggy bag yet. Mommy promised that we'll have shrimp and scallops for a snack tomorrow.

Today was a work day for us. Auntie Kim came with us to Grandpa's house. Mommy and Auntie Kim got to work organizing Grandpa's room. Then they moved onto emptying boxes from when Grandpa first moved into his house. As they separated the garage sale pile, store in the attic pile, and throw away pile, Daddy and Grandpa were busy moving the boxes out of the rooms. I think the ladies did a great job today. There are just 2 boxes left. Before today, almost the entire room was filled with boxes. We worked hard almost all day today. Mommy's birthday is tomorrow. She started celebrating tonight though. Mommy, Daddy, Grandpa, and Auntie Kim went out for Italian food. Mommy ordered her favorite, cioppino...AKA love in a bowl. She said she saved some shrimp and scallops for me and Sierra. I hope we get it tomorrow. Daddy thought they would go for an extra treat and stop at Cold Stone for dessert. I couldn't believe it. You know how organic Mommy and Daddy are. They even brought home their desserts to share.

Last night while Mommy was at her and Auntie Flo's Pampered Chef party, Daddy pulled out a new toy for us. Sierra and I both had fun playing with it for a while. Sierra got tired though and went night night. I wanted to play some more. Whoever designed this toy was a genius. You can bite it from every angle. There are so many facets to this toy and I love it! Do you like how I left it perched on the edge of the couch? I left it there for Sierra. I like to tease her with our toys so see if she'll come play. Then I swoop under her and snatch it as she's going for it. I guess it's a big brother thing. I got so tired from all the fun I had playing with my new toy that I decided to take a quick nap.
P.S. It rained today but I'm happy to report that the rain stopped in time for our walk. Whew! Now it's raining again. I think my magic rain powers are back.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for the sun. I love playing outside when it's sunny. Atleast once during the day, I like to go into my backyard and sunbathe for a little while. I get to observe all the things around me. I can hear and see the birds flying by, people talking, and other pups barking. Mommy says my hair looks extra silvery in the sun. The sun makes everything look so pretty and green after the rain. I guess that's one good reason for the rain.

Sierra's Scoop

I had to walk in the rain tonight. Daddy was holding an umbrella but I still got really wet no matter how close I stayed to his leg. I wanted to stay home instead of going for a walk but Daddy wouldn't have it. No sooner had we walked outside when I stepped into a big cold puddle even though my flashlight was on. Too bad I didn't see the puddle coming. I had soggy paws during the whole walk. Teddy Bear never once came under the umbrella so he is a lot wetter than me. I think he actually likes being out in the rain. I'm keeping my paws crossed that the rain goes away by the time I wake up tomorrow.

We worked...

hard at Grandpa's house today. Mommy spent most of the day vacuuming, cleaning, measuring and lining the kitchen cabinets. Can you believe Grandpa has been there over a year and is still not using his cabinets? Daddy and Grandpa cleaned and organized the attic, and moved around lots of furniture. I spent most of the day underneath the dining table. I did get a chance to see the patch up work on the fence. I think it will work for now. I see a new fence coming in the near future. Mommy found this fox while looking through some of Grandpa's boxes. Sierra and I thought it was a toy at first but it smelled too real to be a toy. It smelled like a distant relative. What is going on with all this commotion at Grandpa's house? Daddy said we are moving there soon!!! I'm sad to report that it's been raining all day...from the moment we woke up. This is the first time in a LONG time that we've not had our daily walk. I hope my magic powers come back tomorrow and the rain lets up a bit so we can go for a walk.

Sadderday number nine

Daddy woke up pretty early this morning. Later than he does for work but earlier than he usually does on a Saturday. He was going to help Grandpa with some things at his house. Then Mommy left late in the afternoon...without us. Can you believe that? She said she was going to my cousin's 1st birthday pawty. No pups allowed. Daddy came home a little while after Mommy left. We went for a walk before the rain came back. It rained last night and it is supposed to rain all week. Ok, back to Mommy. After my cousin's party, Mommy went to see Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Bey Bey, and Auntie Sheila. Mommy says Auntie Sheila has gotten big. Just look at the size of her paws. They might be as big as mine already. She and Uncle Bey Bey love to play together. Not to worry friends. It may seem like Auntie Sheila is winning but I'm told that in the end, it's Uncle Bey Bey who comes out on top.

Fabulous on a Friday

Mommy made pizza for dinner tonight! Do you know what that means for us? Pizza bones! They are very, very yummy! Pizza bones are not like other bones. They are soft, warm, chewy, and they taste like cheese. I think I could eat them all day long. Do you any of you like pizza bones? Mommy tried to get pictures of Sierra with her pizza bones but she ate hers way too fast.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my new squeaky bone stuffie. Mommy returned a Christmas gift at the Bed, Bath, and Beyond store and couldn't find anything she liked. So she picked out this HUGE stuffie for Sierra and me. Even though it is as big as a pillow, I knew right away that it was a toy for me.
Sierra tried to get her hands on it but I had to tell her that I get to play with it first.
It's so soft and squishy, I think I'll rest my head on it for a while.
Hmmmmmm, I can snuggle with it or I can play with it.
I wonder if I'll de-stuff it before I get snuggle with it. I'm not big on snuggling...so I guess that means I'm off to de-stuff my new toy.

Sierra's Scoop

I wish the weather was this perfect everyday. Teddy Bear and I enjoyed the weather by playing outside. When we came inside we had some grass fed beef for a snack. I loved it but Teddy Bear got an upset tummy because he didn't chew his food before swallowing. A little while later I found his portion of the meat hidden by the book shelf. So naturally I gobbled it up with out hesitation. I hope he doesn't smell it on my breath. Besides, finders, keepers, right?

All the pups we met at Las Trampas

We met a few pups during our hike at Las Trampas on Saturday. We met another Eskie named Ronny. Mommy saw him from far away and got excited because it was another Eskie. He was very friendly. We wish we could've played with him.
Then we met this little cutie. Her dad was on the go so we didn't get a chance to catch her name.
Look at the size of this bull. He was so big and fierce. Auntie Kim wanted me to go in front of him to take a picture with him but Mommy wouldn't let me.
We also met a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Roscoe. He was HUGE. We didn't have time to get a picture but boy oh boy, Auntie Sheila is going to be WAY bigger than me.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day, friends! Today started out with a bath for us. Not so fun but after we were all dry and as soft as teddy bears, we went for a walk. The sun was shining and the temps were still cool. After our walk, we got to open our Valentine's Day gifts. Sierra and I got carob chips. Yummmmmmm!!! Since we'll never know what chocolate tastes like, I guess carob will do. Mommy and Daddy also bought us beef livers. They are very yummy! Mommy made a delicious dinner and for dessert...a sweet potato pecan praline pie. Sierra and I could not wait to get a bite. It was SO good!

Las Trampas Take Three

We had so much fun hiking at Las Trampas today. Suka, you were with us in spirit. We started hiking on the left side of the mountain. It was still wet from all the rain that we've had lately. I had fun playing in the muddles. We walked across to the right side of the mountain to begin our hike. That side was much more dry. We saw some cows trying to have a picnic. Sierra and I got really close to see if we could join them. We didn't stay because they didn't have anything good to eat. I found a little stream at the beginning of our hike. I drank a little water from it but Sierra wouldn't get near it. We saw another cow about half way up the mountain. Sierra and I got pretty close to say hi. My Grandpa and Auntie Kim came on the hike with us today. They had a lot of fun with us. I got really, really dirty and wet from our hike today. Daddy had to dry me off before I could go into Auntie Kim's house. We ended up playing at Auntie Kim's longer than we expected so guess what we got for dinner? Turkey and naan bread!!! Sierra and I were in heaven!

Fun on a Friday

Mommy and Daddy have been busy tonight. They say they're getting things ready for tomorrow. Mommy has already made baked oatmeal bars and homemade cheese crackers. Daddy has filled all the water bottles. He put the hiking shoes in the garage. The hip sack is filled with our snacks. What could all this mean? We are going for a hike tomorrow! Yipppeeeeee!!! The rain has stopped and the hills are finally dry. So it's time for us to enjoy our favorite past time. Boy, are we going to have fun tomorrow!

Thankful Thursday

Valentine's Day came a little early for Daddy this year. Mommy got him a Mr. Coffee espresso machine. He had one a long time ago but it stopped working. He's been using a french press but thinks that espressos are much stronger. Daddy needs strong coffee because he is a morning person. Mommy is a night owl. So you can see why he needs the help from a stronger coffee. I'm so thankful for Daddy's new espresso machine because that means that he'll be able to stay up a little longer at night and that means more play time with me!
