Happy New Year

We're at our new cousins Kobe's house to party hardy till the new year. Woo hoo! We're gonna stay up late and play games and watch movies. How did you ring in the new year? Kobe isn't sure about his pawty hat.

Are these sunglasses supposed to be cool?

SIerra didn't like the pawty hat either.

We are pooped out from all the fun.

Introducing...

...our new Cousin, Kobe. Here is his Petfinder photo. Auntie Kim and Uncle Sean fell in love with him. Today they drove all the way down to the Mojave Desert to bring him home.

They stopped by on their way home so we could meet our newest Cousin. Isn't he a beauty?

The lady at the Shelter thinks he's a Shiba Inu mix. We think he could be mixed with German Shepherd, maybe? What do you think?

We're so thankful for the newest addition to our family and even more grateful that Kobe has found such an amazing furever home. We think Auntie Kim and Uncle Sean are pretty amazing! We're already looking forward to all the play dates, hiking trips, camping adventures, and romping in the snow.

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday, everyone...it's Sierra! Can you believe we finally opened presents today? This little worm was inside my Christmas stocking.

Let me have him, Mommy!

I love him already. I can tell that we are really going to have fun with this worm stuffie. Tug of war with Teddy Bear is on!

Unopened gifts?

Why would there still be gifts left under the tree? I know one of them smells like stuffies! Could any of these presents be for Sierra and me? One present smells like some of our furry blog friends from far far away. I hope we are gonna get to open that one. (The cold bug hit Daddy with a vengeance yesterday. He spent most of the day resting and napping. Today we had more friends come over. So maybe, just maybe, we will get to open pressies tomorrow).

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve

Tonight we celebrated Christmas at Our Auntie and Uncle's house and we had a really good time. Grandpa was even waiting for us when we got there and I could tell he was very happy to see Sierra and me. Look at the dinner table. Wow Mommy thought it looked so pretty.

Sierra was moving around all night trying to get back rubs from everyone in the room and I think it worked.

Daddy kept telling me to get down off the couch but Mommy was letting me sit next to her while we all had a gift exchange.

Merry Christmas every one and to all a good night!

We hope you enjoy your shortbread and milk, Santa Paws. We've been really good this year.

Dream flight

Mommy wonders what I do while she is away from home. Do I wonder around door to door, room to room, window to window, just hoping to hear a noise that signals Mommy or Daddy's return? That might be what Sierra does while we're home alone but not me. I just take a long nap in the middle of the house, preferably upside down on the cold tile floor. I save all my energy for when they get home. If you're wondering why it looks like I'm flying upside down when I nap it's because Christmas is the season that I like to dream about flying around with Santa Paws. Merry Christmas!

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday, everyone...it's Sierra! I am joining with my brother Teddy Bear to protest in the kitchen! We are having a sit down till somebody agrees to meet our demands. We want more of our homemade pumpkin cookies that we get every day for breakfast and lunch. We also want twice as much beef and duck jerky. Lastly, next time hamburgers are made Teddy and I want full size patties, not slider size, please. Ok? Until our demands are met we will continue sit here in solidarity.

The best gift this Christmas...

...is having our raw milk back. There were some recent E-Coli cases that were thought to be related to raw milk. Of course, raw milk was not the culprit but it sure took a long time (over one month) for all the bazillion tests to come back negative. We are all fans of this stuff in our house. We could hardly wait to have nice cold one when Daddy came home with the milk tonight.

Christmas Village

Wouldn't it be fun to live in a land far, far away like this adorable village? There are homes, churches, a fire department, and even a grocery store. The only thing that's missing is the snow...and the pet store.

P.S. We want to live next to the grocery store.

That's one cool cat

Garfield is so lucky to be in a Norman Rockwell painting. He has been immortalized forever. This picture is hanging at my Auntie Laura's house so I think she loves Garfield almost as much as Daddy does. They both grew up reading the Jim Davis cartoon about this orange cat and his owner. Daddy still has all of his Garfield books from when he was a child too. Mommy said that Garfield must be the most famous cat in the history of the world. But that got me wondering...who is the most famous dog in the world?

Home alone 3

Not many people know that napping on the couch runs in Daddy's family. Both of his parents always took a nap on the couch right before bed time. His oldest sister likes to snooze on the sofa too! Well needless to say, Daddy turns into a sleepy kid anytime a couch is near. Mommy usually tells him to go to bed since rest is better in a bed than on a couch. As today's title implies Mommy left Sierra and I home alone with Daddy while she went to an ornament party with some of her good friends. Daddy and I were watching TV when all of a sudden Daddy became very sleepy and next thing I knew, we were both snoring away. It has been a long week and we were both just so tired. Mommy came home and said we looked so cute together. It has to be a special occasion for this to happen but well worth the wait. Thanks Mommy for capturing this priceless memory.

This is a first

As most of you know I am not a cat. I usually do not lay on pillows like a cat either but today (for about three minutes) I decided to see what all the fuss is about. As I perched on cushiony comfort I realized I needed to pick a larger pillow if I want to lay my head down on it too. Mommy saw this and stopped what she was doing in the kitchen and snapped a few photos of this bewildering behavior. Do any of you like to lay on small pillows?

Sierra's scoop

Happy Tuesday, everyone! It's Sierra. Do you like the way my Uncle Bey Bey stands? I think he stands like a duck with his feet pointing out. Despite his funny look those feet don't slow him down one bit. It's amazing how fast he can run for such a little guy. One time he ran an entire mile from the deli Grandma used to own. Mind you, he was running alone, by himself until a nice lady stopped traffic and rescued him. Uncle Bey Bey is a runner!

Monday Mystery

Today, while Mommy was sitting at the computer, there was suddenly a loud bang on the window. We quickly looked outside but there was no one or thing around to blame. What could it have been? Mommy let me out to investigate the front yard for any strange scents but I couldn't find anything new. I discovered a few acorns in front of the window but Mommy's not so sure an acorn could fall out of the tree and hit the window. So this mystery will remain unsolved for now. But as always I am on full alert and ready to pounce anyone or anything banging on our glass.

Week thirty seven in the garden

Daddy pulled out all the tomato plants today...along with pretty much everything else in our garden.

Next he will dig up the dirt and add compost to them.

Of course, we'll keep some winter veggies and herbs going.

Bye bye, Garden 2011. We can't wait to start getting ready for Garden 2012.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!!!

We went to visit Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Bey Bey to celebrate Grandpa's 52nd birthday. Wow. My pawrents don't understand it but I love this dome heater that Grandma has. I find it very fascinating. They know it's not because of the heat since I never get cold.

Grandpa had spent the day golfing with his buddies and then went out to his birthday dinner. We were waiting and waiting for him to come home so we could have some...

...sweet pecan potato praline pie and presents.

Grandpa got suckered into going out for karaoke so we weren't able to see him for his birthday or see him open his present. We did bring home a few pieces of the pie that Mommy made. We can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

Daddy came home early to...

...hang Christmas lights outside. He said that it was something that had to be done during the day time.

Let's get to work, Daddy!

You're doing a great job, Daddy. We can't wait to see how they look at night.

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday, everyone! It's Sierra. It was so cold today that I just wanted to sleep on the couch and snuggle with a blanket. So far we have only used the heater once this year and that was on Black Friday. Tonight it is down to 58 degrees in our house. I think I need a thicker coat cause it feels like 20 degrees right now. I wonder if the heater will get turned on again? How warm...or cold is it in your house?

Can you see...

...the excitement on my face? I was on the other side of our backyard...waiting and waiting for Daddy to open the gate so I could greet him when he came home. In the mean time, Mommy had opened the gate on the other side of our yard. She kept calling and calling me to come but I was too focused on Daddy. I gave up on Daddy and went running to the sound of Mommy's voice. I was very excited to see Mommy and Daddy.
