Thankful Thursday

Look at our bountiful harvest. Daddy brought in tons of potatoes, snap peas, and our very first zucchini. Mommy can hardly wait to dig in to all of our veggies. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the snap peas in a salad tonight. We'll save the potatoes for this weekend...homemade french fries, garlic mashed potatoes, or potato salad? The possibilities are endless. And the zucchini...well...Mommy and Daddy love to eat it grilled. But I am hoping Mommy will use it for zucchini bread or zucchini pancakes. What is your favorite way to eat zucchini?

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday everyone, it's Sierra. Do you know what the best thing about camping is? Is it hiking? Hiking is fun 'cause you go places you usually have never been before. Is it being in the wilderness all day? Cause it is really cool to be out in the middle of nowhere especially when there are squirrels and chipmunks running all over the place. Or is it spending time with your family, away from all of the everyday distractions? Well I think those all sound like real good reasons to love going camping. Unfortunately, none of those are my favorite reason. You see, every time we go camping we have a tradition of always stopping at IN-N-OUT. See that Double Double hamburger? Daddy's gonna save a whole patty for me and Mommy will save a whole patty from her Double Double just for Teddy.

To top it off, we are then hand fed...

...some yummy french fries.

I know that might sound kind of like a selfish reason but let's take it from the top. I get really tired on long hikes, and there are a lot of yucky bugs out in the wilderness. Oh, and those squirrels run up trees and take all the fun out of the chase. So I am sticking with IN-N-OUT, 'cause that's what a hamburger is all about. I hope every one out there gets to experience IN-N-OUT for themselves. How many of you already have?

Last weekend...

...we went camping at Pinecrest Lake. Do you like our new tent? It is really nice. Daddy loves how it is came equipped with heavy duty metal poles that are not only strong but lightweight too.
Can you tell that we really had a blast? Daddy didn't catch many keepers but at least we tried, right?
While on a hike I had a stand off with this little guy. I am intrigued by these fuzzy little creatures and how this one looks a lot like my Sister with her bulging eye balls.
It quickly ran up a tree for cover just in the nick of time. Did anyone else do something really fun this weekend?

Week thirteen in the garden

It looks like we're going to have zucchini coming out of our ears.

Well hello there sugar pumpkin!

We love seeing red strawberries.

Can you see our first red cherry tomato?

Mommy really needs to harvest these snap peas tomorrow.

The lettuce finally seems to be doing well now that we're trying it in one of our raised beds. Daddy plans to make the lettuce box bigger with hopes that it will help the lettuce grow better. Our lettuce has never done too well in the lettuce box.

We hope everyone had a great weekend!

While Daddy is busy...

transplanting these baby seedlings,

I'll be bathing in the sun since it's much cooler than it has been all week.

Mommy is in the kitchen baking lots of goodies and Sierra is napping on the couch. How are you spending your Saturday?

Friday, June 24, 2011

We waited...

...overnight for the ice cream to sit in the freezer and do its thing. Now it's time to eat!

Sierra likes to tackle the big ice cube all at once. I think she got brain freeze.

I like to eat mine in small pieces.

Making sure...

...we got every last bite.

Thankful Thursday

We are thankful to see all these wonderful ingredients...yogurt, peanut butter, honey, a banana, and an ice cube tray. You're probably wondering why we're thankful for these four simple ingredients. All these ingredients can only mean one thing...Frosty Paws ice cream!!! Mommy said we'll have to wait until tomorrow to have them since they have to get "ice creamy" in the freezer. Boy oh boy, we can hardly wait.

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday, everyone...it's Sierra! Wow is it summer yet? I almost melted when I went outside this afternoon. I guess Teddy was right, we're in a little heat wave. Does any body prefer the summer to any other season? Winter is Teddy's favorite and Mommy loves the fall. I think I am more of a Spring blossom type of girl. I love it when it's not too hot and not too cold. What is your favorite season of the year?

Monday, June 20, 2011

It's like a...

...heat wave. Can you believe it was 98 degrees here today? That is not my idea of fun. The weather man said it will be over 100 degrees tomorrow and Wednesday. I think this is the pawfect time to make that move to Alaska that I've been dreaming about for years. I wonder if Mommy and Daddy will move there with me? I know Sierra is thinking about coming along even though she's not a big fan of the cold weather like I am.

In the mean time this bowl of cold, ice water will have to do for now.

What do you do to stay cool on those hot days?

Week twelve in the garden

Do you see what I see? It's our very first zucchini of the season. Daddy almost did a backwards cartwheel when he saw the baby zucchini but I told him to restrain himself.

We are seeing more and more baby tomatoes every day.

We hope our newest crop of lettuce will be much better than our last.

We finally have snap peas!!! Mommy says she'll harvest some this week for dinner.

We could hardly believe our eyes. Our new lemon and lime trees are flowering. And you know what flowers mean...fruit. We can't wait to see how big the lemons and limes get this year.

Happy Father's Day to our pretty amazing Daddy and to all the pretty amazing Dad's out there!!! You are loved!

Sentimental Saturday

Yes, that little white fluffy fur ball is me. Mommy shows these pictures to me all the time and tells me how adorable and irresistible I've always been. I certainly can't argue with that...just look at my baby photos. How could anyone ever say no to that face?

Enjoying the cool evening breeze...

I was just relaxing on the grass watching the sun go down when out of the corner of my eye I saw Mommy and her camera. Can you tell I just love the evening time? It's when I get to go for walkies and eat dinner and eat snacks and hang out with Mommy and Daddy. What is your favorite part of the day?

Thursday, June 16, 2011

One of our...

...potato plants took a tumble so Daddy decided to pull the plant. That meant harvesting the potatoes that were attached to the plant. Look at these beauties. I can hardly wait to see what Mommy will make with them.

I'm very happy to report that the weather man was right. We did have cooler temperatures today. I wonder how I can get the cooler weather to stick around?

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday everyone, it's Sierra! It was a scorcher here today. (93 degrees isn't my idea of fun). The weather man promises another scorcher tomorrow and then the cooler weather will come on Thursday. Thank goodness for that. Teddy Bear and I aren't huge fans of the hot weather. Everyone waits and waits for summer and the hot weather but we wait and wait for winter and the snow. We're dreaming of the snow right now.

Have you ever heard the song, "Stuck in the Middle with You?" Daddy was singing it to me today while I was getting some belly rub lovin' from Mommy. It was hard to move once I found myself between Mommy and the couch. It took me a while to get outta there. Mommy was no help. She kept saying I could do it so I tried and tried and finally nudged myself outta there. How do you like to get out of sticky situations?

Monday, June 13, 2011

Today was...

...the pawfect day to sit on these lounge chairs that Daddy set up for us. We love the feel of the cool breeze flowing beneath our bellies. I think the days of cool evenings are coming to an end. The weather man said it is supposed to be 93 degrees tomorrow. Sigh...BIG sigh....

Week eleven in the garden

We love snoopervising Mommy and Daddy while they're working in the garden.

Our squash/zucchini/pumpkin patch is in full bloom. Look at those huge leaves!

We've harvested strawberries almost every day this week. And we hope to be harvesting more and more.

Daddy had to thin out the carrots today. Mommy thought the baby carrots were so cute.

It's always exciting to see flowers on plants. Flowers mean that baby bells are just around the corner.

We wonder how big the pears will get this year.

It's very exciting to see so many baby tomatoes.

We hope everyone had a pawesome weekend!!!

Today we celebrated...

...Daddy's birthday. A few of our aunties, uncles, and cousins came over to join in the fun. Sierra loved getting belly rubs and back scratches from our Cousin. Can you see the red duct tape on our screen door? That's because SOMEBODY ran right through the screen because she forgot that it was closed.

Look at all the yummy food. Auntie Beca was first in line. Mommy made bbq chicken, chicken katsu, and grilled asparagus. Auntie Nene brought over a delicious spinach/fruit salad, and Auntie Beca added loaded sweet potatoes to table.

After dinner we all hung out in our backyard. It was a cool and breezy night.

And the best part about birthdays is the cake. Happy Birthday Pawty to you, Daddy!
