Sierra's Scoop

Hi everyone, it's Sierra here. Did somebody say donuts? We are still enjoying apple cider donuts from our Apple Hill trip last weekend. There are cinnamon and sugar, crumb, glazed, and plain. Teddy and I only eat the plain ones and they are so good. Daddy and Mommy both like cinnamon and sugar. What are your favorite kind of donuts.

Week thirty six in the garden

These might be the last cherry tomatoes we harvest this year. The hydrangea plant is definitely loving its new home. Baby Bells and Italian peppers are almost all done. They have had a great growing season. Since we never could grow rosemary from seed Mommy bought one for us. I wonder where Daddy will plant it? I hope he knows me and Sierra will dig the hole if needed.

World Series Champions

What an exciting World Series game!!! We were on our paws tonight as the game went into an extra inning. The Tigers played an excellent game. We are proud of our hometown team. One of Mommy's coworkers is a die hard Giants fan. We love his show of fanaticism for them. Isn't it too fun?!

Today was our...

...annual trip to Apple Hill. Mommy says this is one of the highlights of the year. We usually go too late for apple picking but we still have fun. First we stopped to say hi to all the beautiful horses. Mommy wished she could bring them all home with us. Then it was time for Daddy's favorite part of the trip...donuts and fritters. Donuts are a once or twice a year treat for us so we were beyond thrilled. Look at how happy Daddy looks. There were tons of furry friends at Apple Hill today. We made sure to say hi to everyone. We are already looking forward to next year.

Once upon a time...

...pawrents went to Canada for a little vacation. While they were at a huge indoor farmers market in Vancouver, they were introduced to salmon candy. To this day Daddy claims it was the best thing he has ever eaten.  Fast forward a few years to this red jerky bag from Trader Joe's that Mommy found. Wild Salmon Jerky, we really had high hopes when we finally got to taste this legendary snack, but it is not as fresh and sticky as the candy version.  Daddy says that we should all take a trip up North to Canada one day...even if it is just for salmon candy.

Lets Go Giants

Congratulations to the Giants and the Tigers for making it to the World Series. We love our San Francisco teams. They are having an amazing series so far. Our TV has never been on so much. Have you been watching the games?

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday everyone! Did you know that one of my favorite things is snuggling? Teddy Bear isn't much of a snuggler so I get most of the snuggles in our home. It's finally starting to feel like Fall here on California. Fall weather calls for blankets and for napping on the couch. I jumped on Daddy as soon as he laid down on the couch. I think Daddy likes snuggling too since I keep him so warm. Are any of you snugglers?

May I introduce...

Our new friend Riley. He looks a lot like me and Sierra doesn't he. We met his Daddy last Friday and he promised to bring Riley in today to meet us and it was quite a treat. Boy oh boy when I woke up I thought today was just another mundane Monday. But you can be certain, when there's three Eskies around its a bonafied puppy party.

Week thirty five in the garden

We will soon pass the mark of our thirty seventh week from last years garden which didn't end until December by the way. It may be looking sparse and a bit shabby but our weed filled and somewhat bug infested veggie patch still has a little bit of life in it. There are baby zucchini's, cherry tomatoes, baby bells, and Italian peppers too. Plus the mint, chives, and kale are still doing fine. Today we planted the hydrangea plant Mommy picked up at the farmers market a while ago. Daddy hopes the coming rain will make everything a little greener and help it all grow.

Uncle Bey Bey

After work Mommy went to pick up Grandma to take her shopping so of course Uncle Bey Bey was super happy to see Mommy and totally looked for me and Sierra. Uncle Bey Bey was so sad we weren't there. It's been a while since we've seen Uncle Bey Bey. We hope things slow down at work for Mommy. We can't wait to go visit Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Bey Bey.
Mommy sent us this photo of Uncle Bey Bey since we couldn't see him in pawson.

It's here...

The weekend is finally upon us and boy are we excited. After a long week at work the weekend is for staying home and relaxing while Daddy does yard work and household chores. Mommy has to work this Saturday so my only job will be waiting for her to come home.

Who's been playing with my squirrel?

I'm the big bad Teddy Bear. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll BARK OUT LOUD! Today when I came into the house from outside, I noticed a very wet Mr. Squirrel laying on the floor. Someone has been biting it's tail, chewing on it's feet, and licking it's face. That sounds a lot like what Sierra would do doesn't it? She is lucky I didn't catch her in the act.

Sierra's Scoop

Yes this little squeaky squirrel belongs to my brother Teddy Bear. He won't mind if I hold it during my nap will he? He has been circling me like a hawk so maybe I should sleep with one eye open.

Doggy Pilates?

Look what Daddy stumbled upon. A story about a fitness routine to help  pups lose weight. We too have been on a little diet for the last couple months so we are no stranger to weight loss. We also increased our daily walk time to almost an hour so slimming down didn't take too long but the ideas in the news story could help you if you live a busy life and struggle to find the time for exercise.  Mommy just wants us to be as healthy as possible. Thanks Mommy

Week thirty four in the garden

While we were visiting Grandpa's house this weekend we were admiring  how well his garden is doing so we wanted share it with you. His girlfriend Janice is the real gardener of the house and you can tell she has been hard at work. She is growing an impressive row of green onions, so many she gave us a bunch to take home.

We also brought home some green bell peppers  from the huge bell pepper bush.

We forgot to ask what kind of squash was in this cute little cloth hammock.  If anyone recognizes the variety please share what you think.

These collard greens are super lush and healthy.  Janice loves to put these greens in all sorts of her dishes. Mommy and Daddy raved about her collard green soup the time she made it for them.  Janice has built a beautiful  garden this year  and has even bigger plans for next year.  We love backyard gardens like this one because everything is not only delicious but also nutritious.

Saturday at Papa's house.

While we were visiting Papa today, Sierra started to get a little frisky and wanted to wrestle. I had to let her think that she was winning because it was her turn to win our little sister/brother wrestling match. As long as we're not playing bitey face I don't mind letting her feel like she is winning.
Let the good times roll!

Tiffy the cutie

Mommy must work at a veterinary or pet store because she always comes home smelling like a different pup. Today Mommy's met her customers furkid named Tiffy, a cute little Terrier. Of course Mommy thought to offer Tiffy a cup of cold water. Since dogs are welcome at your work can I go to work with you Mommy?

The first thing Mommy sees...

...is us. After a long day at work, our favorite place to sit is in driveway waiting for Mommy to come home. We know she is so happy to see us 'cause we put a big smile on her face every time. This is the best part of our day.

Sierra's Scoop

Happy Tuesday everyone, it's Sierra! Aren't you loving the cooler weather we've been having? It's finally starting to feel like Fall. Daddy was doing yard work out front the other day so we made it a family event. Teddy Bear stayed in the driveway while I stayed back and got cozy in the laundry basket. Mommy thought it was so funny I was just trying to help her with the laundry. Do you like to help your Mommy with the laundry?

Do you ever feel like...

Someone or thing is watching you? It's been getting kind of creepy in our neighborhood lately. Cobwebs, tombstones, goblins, and ghouls. You have to look both ways just
to walk down the sidewalk.

Week thirty three in the garden

There's a new mouse in our yard and he lives in a corn. He's kinda cute so we will let him stay.

The baby bells are still sprouting giving us hope that we will continue to harvest the sweet little peppers.

There are new Brandy Wine tomatoes growing so thankfully we didn't wait all summer for nothing like we thought.

New mint leaves were a surprise too.

This baby snail was cruisin for a bruisin on our kale plants so daddy quickly whisked it away.

In case of the occasional burn Mommy or Daddy might get we have a little Aloe Vera plant to soothe our skin. It's grown very slowly in the shade but a little is better than no growth.

Swiss Chard is so pretty Mommy can't wait for the cooler weather so this plant can really take off. Even though summer is over we are still seeing a lot of new growth in our garden maybe we can keep it going all winter this year.

Another special occasion

Being at home with Mommy is much better than being at work. I am still not used to being away from her all day.  Daddy took us for a morning walk today and that was a nice change but I didn't realize that the real agenda was all about not going on our nightly walk. He and Mommy were going out tonight for an early anniversary dinner.  They are going to a famous restaurant in San Francisco called the Wayfare Tavern.  Hopefully they bring me home some food in a doggy bag. I like gourmet cuisine, don't you?
