Sierra's Scoop

Hi everybody, it's Sierra here and I thought you would like this picture of me in Uncle Bey Bey's bed. It was a little small at first but I thought it was kind of cozy. I've never tried lying in it before but when we were visiting him last weekend I thought I should give it a try. When Daddy saw this, he started laughing at me and I became slightly embarrassed so I buried my face into the bed. I guess looking back now I was just being silly because for some restful nap time, I need a roomier place to lay down. Has anybody else tried sleeping in a bed that was a little too small?

The best day trip of the year

We went on a road trip to Yosemite National Park and it was totally awesome.
We had never been to a National Park so it was pretty exciting. We couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about.
Well we definitely found out why Yosemite is so special. It was beyond beautiful and a true wonder. We can't believe we had never been there before.
We have never been near a cliff like this one but we weren't even scared.
It was a little warmer than we prefer so cooling off in the river was a must. Mommy took a million pictures so we will be sharing more throughout the week.

Week twenty four in the garden

We have another red mini bell pepper!!! There are about ten peppers that have yet to change color.
This pomegranate tree needs to go into the ground. We're having a tough time finding the pawfect place.
We didn't have room to plant sweet potatoes this year. The slips are doing so well that we're wondering if there is a way to keep them alive until next May/June.
We harvested the onions and they are ready to go into tomato night's dinner.

Today we...

...went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. We all waited outside while Grandpa was cooking up some Korean BBQ.
Grandma prepared a delicious feast.
There was a special guest in town all the way from Korea. We were thrilled to meet Mommy's Uncle. Family time is so special. It's been over ten years since Mommy has seen her Uncle. We're so thankful for this time together. We hope you're all having a beautiful weekend.

Friday nights...

...are for concerts in the park. Food, furry friends, live music. What more could you ask for? Our cousin made these delicious appetizers. We are SO hoping that Mommy will share her bacon.
Tonight was also the last time to get together with our cousin Alex who is on the plane as we paw. He is heading to New York to begin medical school. We are so proud of him.

We've been...

...harvesting a ton of tomatoes lately. Does anyone need any tomatoes? We've got lots to share. What have you been harvesting from the garden lately?

Sierra's Scoop

Hi everyone it's Sierra. Guess who has a vet appointment soon? That's right, yours truly. Today a postcard came addressed to me and at first I was excited but then Mommy explained it was from my doctor. It is time for my rabies vaccination so now I'm a little nervous. I don't know anyone who likes getting shots so I will be counting the days till then.

A basket full...

...of toys and I picked the pine cone. We're only allowed to have one pine cone in the house since they make quite a mess. Sierra and I love to take turns chewing off all the little pieces. It's almost like destuffing a stuffie. Sierra is such a nice sister, waiting patiently so she can have it next.

Week twenty three in the garden

A butterfly visited our garden today.
This onion looks ready to harvest.
We've been harvesting loads and loads of tomatoes. Mommy needs to get busy roasting them.
Our cucumber plants look great but we've yet to see a cucumber.
Look who finally turned red this week. We're so excited about our first mini bell pepper.

These pups...

...are so lucky. They look like they're off to have lots of fun with their Daddy. Our guess is that they're either going camping or back to their ranch. We think camping sounds a lot more fun but we're sure working on a ranch can be fun too...especially if you're riding on an ATV.

Look who we...

ran into tonight. Two adorable kittens. Their Mommy was close by so this was the closest we were able to get to them. Mommy says they are too cute for words. She wishes she could bring the kitties and their Mama home with us. We know they can fend for themselves but Mommy worries about them getting enough food. Daddy told her they'll be just fine. Do you see a lot of kitties in your neighborhood?

Sierra's Scoop

We received an award from Haopee at My Dogs Love Me.
The Illuminating Blogger Award required us to share one interesting fact about ourselves and for it to be forwarded to others. 1. Sierra loves to be scratched. Anytime. Anywhere. She could be scratched all day. 2. Teddy loves the cold, especially the snow. It can be the dead of winter and he wants to be outside...even if it's ten o'clock at night. 3. Daddy loves snowboarding. He wishes he could've been a professional snowboarder...doing what he loves all day long. 4. Mommy loves animals of all sorts. She wishes she would've went to school to be a Vet. We want to pass this award along to all our friends who want to pawticipate. It's always fun getting to know each other better.

Lake Tahoe Recap

Sierra isn't a big fan of the water. But she does love to lay on anything but the ground. She found a nice comfy chair.
There were a lot of paddle boarders on the Lake. This German Shepherd even got to ride around the lake on one.
There were tons of furry friends to play with.
I love getting my feet wet and chasing the water. I once swam in Lake Tahoe in the middle of January. By the time we walked back to our cabin I had icicles hanging down from my fur. That was way back when Mommy and Daddy didn't have a camera to capture such an epic moment.

Week twenty two in the garden

Our zucchini plant is doing great this year. We're thrilled since we didn't have success with them last year.
Does anyone know what this flower is called? Our friend gave us bunches of them to plant. They sure are pretty.
Boy do oranges grow fast!
Flowers on potato plants indicate healthy growth underground. We are thinking that there may be a few potatoes that are ready for harvest.

What a beautiful day...

...at the lake. We had beautiful weather at Lake Tahoe day. We spent most of the day near the water with our cousins and met lots of furry friends. We can't wait to share more about today's adventure with you later next week.

Friday, July 13, 2012

Look who...

...we found at our cabin. It's a wooden bear for Teddy Bear. We were all so excited to see him when we arrived. We couldn't stop sniffing him. Sierra was even a bit scared of him at first. We've always admired wooden carvings. This is the first time we've seen one up close. We love him already.

What a...

...heatwave. This week has been a little too hot for our Eskie fur coats. Since it's too hot to play during the day, we're keeping cool by napping. I'm dreaming of snow, lots of snow. We hope you're all staying cool.

Sierra's Scoop

Hi everyone it's Sierra here and today I was reliving old times by playing with my squeaky pig. You can tell he used to be one of my favorites because he is super worn out. I feel kinda bad that there are no legs left on him but at least I don't have to worry about him running away. Do you have any indestructible toys at home that can take a licking but keep on ticking?

Monday, July 9, 2012

Today was our...

...monthly dental check up. Mommy brings out this little scraper tool and she gets to work. Sierra and I are very good while getting our toofies cleaned. It isn't super fun but we know it's important to have clean toofies.

Week twenty one in the garden

We were given this lucky bamboo starter plant by one of our friends. Daddy is still trying to figure out where to plant it. In the mean time, it's growing very nicely.
Daddy could hardly believe his eyes when he peeked through the strawberry plants today. Is it possible that we'll be having a strawberry harvest soon?
There are so many little bells on our pepper plant. We're still waiting for them to change colors. We're anxious to see if they'll be red or orange or perhaps another color.
These little cherry tomato clusters make Mommy very happy.

Lands End Trail

Today we went hiking in San Francisco because we knew it would be nice and cool there. This is the view from the trail. It was too foggy to see the Golden Gate Bridge but it is right there beyond the cliffs.
After a nice long walk on the trail we headed down to the beach.
Once we finally got there it was time for some rest and relaxation. Mommy loves the way our paws spread out when were at the beach and wonders wether its to prevent us from sinking in the soft sand or just to feel it between our paw pads. Daddy said it is because we are getting ready for a swim in the ocean. We hope you all had some comfortable weather in your neck of the woods.
