Week thirty four in the garden

Garden season is almost over. Daddy says that first frost should be coming soon. (I think I'm the only one excited about the colder weather). We harvested the sweet potatoes tonight. Look at all those roots. Wow!!! There are so many! There were lots of little sweet potatoes and several large and medium ones too. I smelled them to make sure they were sweet. I wonder what Mommy is going to make with them? I hope she puts them into our cookies. Maybe she'll make a sweet potato pie? Doesn't that sound yummy? Daddy harvested the onions tonight too...well what was supposed to be onions. Mommy says she'll use the tops of them. She says they're like green onions.

  1. Hi, Teddy!
Tell your mom to make sweet potatoe chips for you and Sierra! I've heard they are yummy!

  2. Flaked Salmon and mashed sweet potato burgers are REALLY good, too. Now comes the time for planning for next year's garden! Colder weather (I love the wind in my fur)...and it is good to cuddle when we come back in to get warmed up!

  5. Hi Teddy,

Oh we love sweet potatoes at our house!

Our mommy slices them real thin, then fries them with bacon grease in a cast iron skillet till light brown then sprinkles them with salt.

She blots them on a paper towel and serves them hot!

Dang! That sounds good! Never had any, but she swears they are!

    Bone-it-pet-treat,

    Luv,
    Riley and Star.
