Week five in the garden

We have tomatoes, peppers, and squash growing under a fluorescent light and they are looking good.

Our tunnel covers have really worked good when we have needed them.

Daddy is warming up the soil for our carrots, beets and radishes.

The onions are doing well we but need to plant more.

Mommy can't wait for the broccoli to grow.

Of course the Kale is simply amazing. Super healthy in so many ways.

Chives go with so many dishes. Mommy is glad they are finally taking off.

The parsley has been getting greener and greener.

Today Daddy planted more garlic to fill in any empy spots in our few rows growing.

Week four in the garden

Look what we found growing in the garden today. It's Yukon Gold Potatoes! Does that mean Daddy missed a few during last harvest? Oopsie.

We are not ready to give up on the Asian Pear tree. It still isn't growing like our lemon and lime trees.

Another crop that just keeps growing on it's own is the garlic. Mommy is paying close attention to it to make sure it does well.

Daddy has been working the soil in all of the empty beds getting ready for transplants. We still have a bunch of plants under a fluorescent light growing inside too.

Along with the parsley, chives and onions, the kale is our going to be a great producer like always. Ready for Zuppa Tuscana soup?

Week three in the garden

This little gate is there to keep us out of our veggie garden. (We are only allowed to be in there under pawrental supervision). But I think we all know that we could easily jump over the little gate.

We're amazed at how fast the kale grows.

It's great to have so much fresh parsley.

The garlic grew about 3 inches this week.

Mommy thinks the thyme is beautiful right now.

Week two in the garden

Looks like we have a lot of work to do, Daddy!

Look at all of those kale plants!

Mommy just loves the baby broccoli plant.

The garlic seems to be doing excellent.

Look at the chive plants. They didn't do so great last year so we're hoping for a better season.

Our lemon tree is not even a year old and it is already giving us lemons. Woohoo! I think Mommy should make some lemon poppy seed scones with them.

Week ten in the garden

Well hello there little zucchini flowers that are starting to take shape.

After months of harsh weather, not a lot of sun but plenty of rain, look what we finally saw today!!!

We've got a kale forest in our garden right now. Mommy has been using it to cook all sorts of goodies. This week she'll use it for zuppa tuscana.

We are so excited to already see tiny peppers coming.

The garlic is really taking off.

We want to wish our Daddy the bestest birthday ever!!! He and Mommy went out for a special dinner tonight which we'll tell you about tomorrow. We hope you all had a great weekend!

Week six in the garden

Oooohhh la la , can you tell these little radishes are almost ready to eat? Our garden is doing very well in this cool sunny weather we've been having.

The garlic really surprised us by how fast it grew.

After much anticipation we are finally seeing a row of baby carrot tops in between our rows of green onions and beets.

Mommy is very excited about our little yukon gold potato plants too. They look very healthy and all trying to reach for the sky.

Do I look excited to start eating strawberries again. I've been waiting for months for one of those little morsels of goodness. I think I just love berries of any kind.

The dill made its first appearance this week right near our little basil plant.

Along with our potted squash plant and zucchini, our pumpkins plants are finally here.

Our lettuce bed looks empty but there are little plants growing all over. We are still playing catch up around here so maybe in a couple more weeks we'll start reaping what we sow.

Happy Mother's Day to our amazing Mommy and to all the amazing Mother's out there!

Week five in the garden

Wahoo! Our Yukon Gold potato plants are really popping out of the dirt finally.

So is our newly planted garlic patch.

I can see little radish's already sprouting up too.

They are growing really fast just like our beets.

and turnips. It is already time to thin out our little vegetable rows to make room for some big time growth spurts.

Have you ever heard of Spaghetti Squash? I haven't either but it is growing big leaves already just like the zucchini we planted from seed.

I wasn't even looking for baby oranges today but a dove flew in and landed on one of our citrus trees. As Sierra and I were bird watching, I noticed that there were a few little flowers up there and that's when I saw these little beauties. We can count the days it takes them to grow into full size oranges.

Week four in the garden

We were enjoying the cool, breezy day while Daddy was working hard in our garden.

Well hello there, garlic. It's very nice to see you.

We are very excited to see the potato seedlings!

The heirloom tomatoes have finally arrived on the scene.

Mommy thinks the snap peas look very pretty.

What are some of your favorite things to grow?
