Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for packages...even if they aren't treats. Daddy brought home a package for me from the Only Natural Pet Store. Inside were Flea and Tick Squeeze On and Halo Herbal Ear Wash. Mommy is going to care for our ears at home. I hate when the vet cleans my ears. I hate going to the vet period. I just hope there are treats involved when Mommy has to clean my ears.

My Great Grandma

is teaching my Mommy how to knit. Mommy has been wanting to learn how to knit for a long time. She asked my Grandma to teach her but she said that my Great Grandma was better. Mommy hopes she can remember everything she learns from Great Grandma. Mommy was showing me what she learned today. I thought the sticks and the soft ball-like stuffie were new toys. Let me see. I'm going to bite the stick just once. Mommy said they aren't toys. I hope she doesn't try to knit me a scarf or anything else for me to wear. I'm already warm enough!

Mundane Monday

It's Monday again. It felt too hot to do anything today. The temperature outside was 101 degrees. Can you believe it? I slept most of the day. Thank goodness Mommy turned on the AC at noon. I was lying on the bench just relaxing. I get a perfect mix of the AC and the fan when I'm on the bench. So I was minding my own business, trying to stay cool when I heard that old familiar sound of a plastic bag opening. Treats? Could it be? No! Daddy had opened a bag of Raisinets. (I couldn't believe Mommy let Daddy have a bag of these but she said he deserved a treat). I smelled the oh so decadent aroma of chocolate. Daddy said I couldn't have any since his treats have chocolate and raisins. I can't have either of those things. I barked at Daddy so he would go away and take his torturous treats with him.

Week twenty in the garden

We've had so many bountiful harvests from our veggie garden. Daddy is sure that he'll have more before first frost. Just this week Daddy harvested close to 50 tomatoes. Mommy has been busy making marinara sauce. We still have a lot of cucumbers growing. There are two zucchinis coming in. Daddy thinks they may be our last two for the season. The basil plants are like a jungle. Mommy is going to freeze them soon. I like to hang out by the sweet potatoes. They remind me of the sweet potato peanut butter cookies Mommy made a few weeks ago.

Pot sticker Party

Today, all the humans gathered at my Great Aunt's house to make pot stickers. My Grandma prepared everything last night. Today, my Great Grandma, my Grandma, my Great Aunt, and cousins all helped make about 700 pot stickers. Great Grandma was in charge of steaming all of them while everyone else was busy filling and making the pot stickers. It took almost all day and they finished just in time for our walk. Daddy let me have a taste test. They were so yummy. I'm so glad we have more!

Fun on a Friday

It was another cool day today. I'm loving this weather! Tonight during our walk, Mommy let Sierra bring home a pine cone. Pine cones are one of Sierra's favorite toys. I let her play with it for a little while then it was my turn! Daddy told me that I have to play with it outside because he doesn't me to make a mess inside the house. So here I am sitting on my outdoor mat, destroying the pine cone Sierra brought home. See Sierra stuck inside? We would fight over it so that's why she's inside watching me. I'll have to ask Mommy to bring home two pine cones tomorrow night.
P.S. Moments after this picture was taken Mommy let me come inside to play with my pine cone.
