Happy Earth Day

Today we celebrate the Earth and also Good Friday. We hope you all spent some time thinking of ways to be a bit greener than last year. Now that we have new gutters we hope to install rain barrels around our new home. Instead of wasting the rain water we'll use it to feed our veggie garden. Daddy is hard at work figuring out ways to get the best barrel...wood, plastic, or metal? We are still deciding. Do any of your have rain barrels? And as we all have fun getting together with family this weekend, we hope you all remember the reason why we celebrate this special holiday. His name is Jesus.

Week six in the garden

Happy Easter, everyone!!! I hope everyone had a great day family lots of family, food, and love.

Look at how well our seedlings are doing. Our heirloom Brandywine tomatoes are the biggest right now. We have yet to see our heirloom bell peppers sprout. Daddy thinks it might not be warm enough for them to start sprouting.
Our strawberries look just about the same as they did last week. I hope to see them grow this week.
Daddy planted more seeds today...stevia, heirloom cherry tomatoes, parsley, cabbage, broccoli, and more heirloom tomatoes. Sierra and I helped supervise.
After all our hard work, the real fun began. Here I am checking out my Easter basket. There was a green squeaky stuffie, organic beef jerky, and tons of plastic eggs. Mommy and Daddy there were surprises in a few on them. I sniffed my way through the eggs.
So did Sierra, well she did after this picture. She was a caught a little off guard because of the bunny ears.
I found the hidden treasure...organic carob chips. Yummy!!! Sierra ate hers too fast so Mommy wasn't able to get a picture.
Then it was time for the Easter feast...ham, au gratin potatoes, caesar salad, butter biscuits, and green beans.
What was your favorite thing about Easter?

What a busy...

...day. We were all up bright and early to get started on working in and out of the house. Grandpa and Daddy did a lot of yard work while Mommy got almost everything packed away. We are happy to say there are no more boxes in our home. Then we headed out to the bay. Our first stop was for Mommy. She needed new dish gloves. Then we went to visit Auntie Flo and Uncle Tim and all our cousins. It was so nice to visit with them. Then we went grocery shopping and finally our last stop was at Grandma and Grandpa's for an early Easter dinner. Have I told you how much I love looking out the window during road trips? Auntie Sheila was very sleepy so we didn't get to play a lot. Uncle Bey Bey wanted to play and it's safe to say that Sierra and I wore him out. On the way home, Daddy almost got off at our old exit. Oopsie! I hope everyone is having a fun Easter weekend.
