Boy oh boy...
...we could hardly believe our sniffers tonight. Mommy was making a delicious Korean dish. One wiff and we were hooked. We followed Mommy's every move in the kitchen. Did we mention how much we all love Korean beef dishes in this home? Mommy and Daddy decided to watch a movie during dinner. You know what this means. That's right, easy access to the dinner plates! I quickly jumped up on to the leather cubes. Daddy made sure to get a photo before he told me to get down. Sierra and I waited patiently and we were definitely rewarded for our good behavior.

Look what we...
...harvested today. A bit of San Marzano tomatoes along with cherry tomatoes and some radishes. Mommy says she can't wait to make some marinara with the San Marzanos. We sniffed the radishes and they smell a bit spicy so we'll save them for Mommy & Daddy.
In other news, we already have 2 baby persimmons of our tree. We are so excited! When we went to tend the garden today, Mommy noticed that one of the baby persimmons had fallen off the stem. We were all very sad. We live in a very windy city (Chicago 2) and the baby must not have been able to hold on. We hope a lot more baby persimmons start popping up.

Sierra's Scoop
Happy Tuesday everyone, it's Sierra. Did you know that I love to dig when we're at the beach? Mommy wonders what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for lost treasure. I'm looking for a cooler place to lay down. I'm looking for some fish bones. Digging is so much fun.
Do you like to dig in the sand when you're at the beach?

Ocean Beach Recap
We had such a wonderful time in San Diego this past weekend. We met Blosson as soon as we arrive at Ocean Beach.
This Lab was pawesome!
Hi there, Mr. Shiba Inu. It's nice to meet you.
There were so many fun pups to play with.
These pups were having lots of fun swimming.
We even met another Eskie. He was a lot of fun to play with.

Week nineteen in the garden
We're going to have much cooler weather this week. We hope this means that the broccoli will flourish while Mr. Sun is away.
Look at who made a comeback? We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw how well the basil sprung back from the dead.
Our oranges are about the size of tangerines right now. We're surprised at how fast they grow.
We're waiting for these mini bells peppers to turn color. It should be any day now.

San Diego Saturday
Today we went to Ocean Beach, the best off leash dog friendly beach we have ever been to. We all had a great time. There were so many pups out playing in the surf that at first I couldn't believe my eyes. After the beach we walked down the street to grab some fish tacos. Baja style fish are Daddy's favorite tacos of all time and we were definitely not disappointed. I know I'm supposed to love the snow but San Diego weather is nice and cool. Mommy and Daddy, can we move here?

Tonight we dined...
al fresco while wearing our harnesses while on our leashes. Is that crazy or what?! Wanna hear another crazy thing? We went on the longest car ride to date. That's right, friends, we were on the road for close to nine hours. Of course there were lots of stops in between for potty breaks but still. What's the longest car ride you've been on?

Today we...
...harvested tons of kale, radishes, and cherry tomatoes. We can't believe how big the cherry tomatoes are getting. Mommy and Daddy eat them every day with their salad. The kale is used for green smoothies. Mommy also likes to sautee the kale with some garlic to serve as a dinner side dish. The radishes are great with tacos but Mommy said we can't have tacos every day. She likes to add them to her daily salads. What veggies are you enjoying right now?

Sierra's Scoop
Happy Tuesday, everyone! It's Sierra. Isn't it funny how a toy can be left in the toy basket for a few days, totally untouched? And then, Daddy brings life to it again by making it squeak or quack or chirp? Then all of a sudden, everyone wants to play with Mr. Duckie.
Well guess which lucky girl got to Mr. Duckie first?!

Week eighteen in the garden
Happy Father's Day to our wonderful Daddy. Mommy said he was the best Daddy Doggy, but he quickly corrected her by saying he's the best Doggy Daddy.
As you can see, we are eating lots of tomatoes lately. These extra sweet little cherries go well with a salad.
Mommy loves her San Marzano's. She is going to make lots of yummy Italian sauce with their red fruit.
This kale makes great smoothies. At least that's what Mommy and Auntie Kim say. Daddy is still on the fence as they say. He likes fruit in his smoothies way more than veggies but we're still trying to change his mind about that.
Yay for zucchini flowers. That means lots of zucchinis to eat.
Daddy said the flowers on the chives remind him of fireworks. I kind of see what he means. Maybe he is just looking forward to Fourth of July festivities. They are in just a few weeks. We hope everyone had a great Father's Day.

Sierra's Scoop
Today was the last day for the heat. The rest of the week is supposed to be cooler. I know Teddy Bear is excited. I tried to sleep right through the day today. Us American Eskimo's prefer the cooler days if you couldn't tell. I was so passed out that I almost slept right through Mommy brushing me. I guess all this sweaty paws weather can take a lot out of you.

It was a sweltering...
...ninety seven degrees here today. Can you say wowza? That is a wee bit hot for our taste. We couldn't think of a better way to spend the day than by resting our tummies on the cold tile floor. Mommy said that there is a device which warms up your tile for those oh so cold winters (which we love). We wonder if there is a device that cools down the tile floors even more. Doesn't that sound like heaven?

Week seventeen in the garden
It's supposed to be in the 90's this week. We've got our paws crossed that this broccoli will beat the heat.
Daddy planted tons of beet seeds yesterday. We hope to see little seedlings very soon.
Our potato tunnel is doing great. We can't wait to see how many potatoes are under all that dirt.
We've got some Romas that are almost ready for harvest!!!
My sniffer tells me that Daddy just put down some organic citrus fertilizer. I've gotta figure out how to get underneath that mulch so I can roll around in that fertilizer.

Birthday bash part two
Today we went to Uncle Bey Bey's house for Daddy's birthday feast.
Daddy was treated to some delicious Korean cuisine. There was barbecue beef short rib, sticky sweet fried chicken, and even the yummy shrimp cooked in an egg batter.
Then for dessert there was chocolate cream pie and I know that it was delicious because Daddy licked his plate clean. Mommy's cousin even ate his second peace right out of the pie tin.

Mommy was cold...
...tonight and wanted to cover up with a blanket. I thought I'd get nice and cozy with her since I love napping on the couch sometimes. If you can't tell, I'm dreaming of running and burrowing through the snow and then feasting on a steak dinner followed by ice cream for dessert. No wonder why Mommy loves this blanket so much...the best dreams happen here.

Sierra's Scoop
Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today is a very special day. It's our Daddy's birthday!!! Woohoo...we all love birthdays around here.
Daddy requested pizza and salad for dinner. Mommy made this hot Hawaiian and a pepperoni.
Daddy also requested peach cobbler for dessert. He was so excited to blow out the candle that he looks like a ghost.
We just loved this picture of Auntie Kim. We were all dying laughing about something, we don't remember but the laughter on her face is priceless.
