Week fourteen in the garden

Daddy had already turned on the AC by the time I woke up this morning. It was wonderful to wake up to a cool house. The AC has been on all day. It was 103 degrees outside today. Daddy went out to the veggie garden several times today to give everyone a mist. We didn't go out there till just now (it's safe to go outside since the sun is going down). The zucchinis are growing very fast! There are a few green beans that look ready to pick. There is a little baby bell pepper starting to grow. This cucumber has grown so much since last week. I wonder if it is time to eat it yet? We have tomatoes in all stages, some are almost ready to pick, some are starting to turn red, some are just babies. We also saw new strawberries starting to come! I was thrilled when we saw this. The bird net has done a great job keeping my strawberries safe! And thank you everyone for your kind words regarding my Uncle Harley.

  5. I wish I had your garden. Did I tell you Mom says next year she is going to use the big pots for roses, not tomatoes.

But, on another note regarding tomatoes, she thinks now that she was not overwatering them as grandpa kept saying. Instead, she now thinks she was underwatering them! She gave them a really really good long dose of water on Friday, the day before the heat wave came to our house, and the tomato plants perked up!
